As we look back on four years of evolution and updates in Halo Infinite, we’d like to thank our community for your steadfast support. Without your feedback and enthusiasm, Halo Infinite multiplayer would not be the special place it is today: a robust arena for slaying and playing, with something for every Spartan.
With multiple Halo titles in development, we’ll need our whole team’s combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us. While we remain committed to supporting Halo Infinite on the road ahead, Operation: Infinite is the last major content update currently planned.
Starting November 18, Operation: Infinite will introduce a 2X boosts on Career Rank and SP, 100-tier Operation Pass, eight earnable armor sets, new Ranked Seasons, and 200 never-before-released customizations arriving in The Exchange.
Jump into Operation: Infinite on November 18.
I’ll try it out, but Infinite fell off hard for me because the MP started feeling bad to play, I think whatever they did to improve their back end. Pretty much caused my connection to feel off more often than not.
It feels like this is the end of the journey for Infinite.
If this was a while ago, they were trying a new netcode. After complaints, they reversed it so it might be worth trying out again. Especially since its such an amazing package now.
It was before and during the blue team battle pass, so I don’t know how long ago it was.
I think the netcode stuff was either late 2022 or late 2023.
So, likely not going to be a good experience for me, as Blue Team operation was this year from the info I found on Halopedia.
Infinite is such a missed opportunity. It truly could have been infinite if they just had a better content update timeline at launch. The game always had fantastic bones, but it took them SOOO long to update the multiplayer and give it enough content. Those first seasons were really rough with how long they were. Then by the time they figured it out, no one cared anymore. Including Xbox considering they stopped showing infinite update trailers at the showcase (and they showed all their live service updates off). Part of me was hoping they make infinite multiplatform to give it new life but alas. This is the end (eventually) (https://youtu.be/81s_l6aYgrk?si=18Ek0O6T7rPGiB8r)
I mean I guess they still could make it multiplatform. The game is definitely in a state where they could just release it on Playstation and Switch and those first time players will have a blast. And then maybe that brings more Xbox and PC players back. I’d really like that. But it does sound like they just want to completely move on. A shame. There’s still a lot of life that could be squeezed out of infinite.
Whatever comes next will have big shoes to fill for me. Halo Infinite was my first time really playing a Halo Multiplayer (I’m not counting the like five minutes I played MC), and it felt good. It was a lot of fun. I’m only not playing as much now because Overwatch 2 hooked me back in with the GPU Exp boost (why doesn’t Infinite have that? I got a bunch of EXP boosters as perks but a flat stackable exp boost would keep me playing more. This should be in literally every live service first party game) and stadium. And I only really have time to play one multiplayer at a time (and the storage space for one).
Well, at least the forge tools on Halo Infinite are infinite. And the goodies are nice, but I do hope they include everything formerly paid to be free in the exchange (it doesn’t specify). I’d also love if all the premium tiers of previous season battle passes and operation passes were unlocked for all of us, so we could truly infinitely (kinda) keep playing to finish all of them. Actually it’s kinda weird to me that there’s still a premium tier of this operation pass. It’s supposed to be what’s keeping all of us playing for eternity. Why not get rid of the premium tier and just make it a 200 tier pass or something? I mean if they’re keeping paid content, why not go multiplatform? Give a boost to the playerbase before death and introduce new gamers to Halo MP. I mean they could potentially make more money from it than Campaign Evolved on other consoles due to Microtransactions. Shrug.
Yuletide looks pretty cool, good job @Sikamikanico
A bit disappointing as Campaign Evolved will not have multiplayer, so how long before the Halo fanbase has something to sink their teeth into besides MCC?
They should have outsourced it to someone else like Double Eleven or Certain Affinity just to keep getting new Operations until next gen Halo comes out.
