Finished the game. Took me 23 hours with about 75% of the sidestuff done. I absolutely adore this game. Loved the story and how it was conveyed. Also Escharums voice actor is absolutely brilliant. There are so many standout moments that gave me goosebumbs and an andrenaline rush and also some gut punching moments where I was moved to tears.
I hate to judge it so soon after I finishing it, but man this is THE best Halo has ever been for me.
Its a masterpiece of a game in every regard.
Everything 343 did here, gameplay, music, the story and the world worked so well for me.
Bravo 343, I can’t wait for what you are doing next.
Also, can someone please do a spoiler thread, I need to talk about it

Because of gamepass alot will try Halo no matter the score. I think Metacritic score is more for the staff at 343. It’s a great moral booster. They went through a lot of abuse for the past 6 years. Even people on this forum were saying everyone at 343 should be fired. Congrats to them. There are very few moments in the game industry when one can bask in the glory…

Do you have a map or guide to show the Spartan core locations? All my gear is fully upgraded but I only have three extra cores.
I ended up with 24 extras, heh.

How? There are 45 Spartan cores, which are exacly the number you need to upgrade all 5 abilities (9x5=45).
Anyway that map shows pretty instantly they cut the last area altogether, maybe that could be the first sp update, they don’t even need to create a new zone, only to fill it with things to do.
Maybe it’s a bug, because it’s math: the first tier is free, the second cost 1, the third 2, fourth and fifth 3: (1+2+3+3=9)*5=45
I found all and unlocked all power-ups and the achievements and I have 0 left.
Dunno. I got those achievements too and always had extra. Not sure what coulda caused it if it is a bug. Others have the same result I do tho. /shrugs
At least you two fully upgraded while I thought the game still had one more area, so did a main mission and it took me to the end

Next time 343, put a message to say you are going past the point of no return lol.
Yeah, I did notice when I got to the section with the three AA guns, Spartan cores I collected counted double, so I was able to finish the upgrade tree in that map section. Felt weird, to be honest.

Weird. I have all the equipment maxed out, just got the achievement for finding all cores, but have 12 extra.
I know, but I wanted to at least have all my abilities upgraded for the final encounters, so for me it was in this instance. Also, I am not really spoiling anything and I feel it is actually useful information for someone who is yet to reach that certain point.
