“And I owe it all to Gramm-era-ly”
I think it will definitely be the most well received 343 Halo game by far (especially by players) but in terms of MC/OC I’m thinking it will land around the 84 mark. It’s a lot harder for games to get 90 and above scores and i don’t think you can straight up compare MC of Halo 4 and Infinite for example as it seems critics are a lot harder to please now compared to back in 2012. So as weird as it sounds i wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up having a slightly lower average (i doubt any site is going to think we gave H4 an 85 so we can’t give HI any lower) than Halo 4 and 5 but it’ll definitely be seen as the much better game.
Obviously i hope i’m wrong and the game does “shock” everyone and land close to a 90 score as you know there have been a subset of gamers (especially after July 2020) hoping this turns out to be a trainwreck.
The multiplayer gameplay is fantasic, but Ive heard so much negativity regarding the progression, when IMO it aint that bad. Anyone think that will affect the MC score?
Halo 4 did get 87
I’m going with a 90 on OC for the campaign but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s high 80’s once there’s 100+ reviews.
I’m on 86-88. I think the suboptimal content of multiplayer (modes, playlists, maps) will knock some scores down.
91 MC
93 OC
55 Metro
And slant Magazine? Those lunatics that scored FH3 or 4 very low because…it wasn’t Dirt Rally? Lmao.
and thats another W for Microsoft
Can you pay my rent instead?
Im going with MC 85 and OC 88
89 MC, 90 OC and 20 r/Halo.
This is such a dumb statement lol
Gamespot recently made an article on Halo Infinite Loot Caves and called it “How to open Halo Loot Boxes” even Skill Up on Twitter called them out. They clearly got a lot of flack for it and if they gave Halo Infinite some bullshit score that’s going to sour their relationship with Xbox, meaning they’re less likely to get an exclusive access to future titles
Clicks and traffic are fine but credibility leads to clicks and traffic regardless.
Maybe 1-2 points, remember even Halo 5 had no BTB at launch and got flaq for the Req packs and lack of armor customization, no split screen and a mediocre campaign and despite that still got an 84/100
Infinite having a great campaign will make it easier to forgive MTX that are in every F2P game, also the progression is pretty generous now. Gene Park who’s reviewing the game for Washington Post and got access to the campaign even said he went up like 3-4 levels during a 30 minute Zoom call so it really comes down to the MTX
I can’t recall any game getting slammed hard for having MTX especially when everything else about the game is top tier.,
I’m not predicting a 90 but I’d be surprised if we got less than an 85
That’s not how it works with Xbox, they support pretty much anyone and I’m yet to have a publisher withhold a code after we gave something a poor review. I"m not saying it never happens, but Xbox is not going to do it.
A poor review is one thing, a review designed to get clicks is an entirely different ordeal. Gamespot giving Crackdown a 5 or a 6/10 isn’t going to sour a relationship with Microsoft
Gamespot giving something like Halo 6/10 when it clearly doesn’t deserve that low of a score is going to likely sour a relationship
When IGN put up that God of War Xbox vs PS4 comparison that had Xbox represented with a blank square for trolling purposes, Ryan at IGN immediately had it taken down and apologized to Larry and Aaron and was practically kissing their ass because of it.
To be fair I would give it a 10/10 too, it was my GOTY last year. Way better than TLOU2.
I’ve see we’ve reached the conspiracy portion of this discussion.
How is bashing them relevant to the campaign previews I don’t like ign for a specific reason because of a editor being soft but I’m not gonna essentially force it in a thread completely unrelated to the game so I get why they are flagging people’s posts
