What I heard about the length even on easy its a pretty long one compared to all the others even on easy difficulty

Is this strictly campaign OR campaign & side missions?

I do really wanna ask someone at 343 why repulsor isn’t in the campaign. It’s insanely fun to use.

There’s an achievement for ā€˜speedrunners’ for completing all the campaign levels in under 8 hrs and 343 has said several times it is the longest campaign they have made even just considering the ā€˜golden path’.

Yep they been clear about length of it

my guess is it was only added to the multiplayer recently (like in the last year) and as such, the campaign side probably didn’t get it because it wasn’t built with the repulsor in mind for enough of the development period and they didn’t want to run into any balancing issues that adding it might end up cascading. Of course, this is just me trying to make sense of it being absent cuz I can’t think of any other good reason.

My layman understanding is that it would be OP to use the Repulsor against the Banished since it would be a permanent ability as well. Can you imagine the upgrades for it? :sweat_smile:

Upgrades could be wider frustrum of effect, deeper frustrum of effect, more intense effect, adding damage to the effect and faster cooldown. I don’t see it as more OP than the grappleshot is. Plus, it coulda been added in later in the game so being OP isn’t as problematic. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah I don’t think anything could be more op than the grappleshot already is. I mean it has certain upgrades that I think make it actually broken if we get to use it frequently like that punching upgrade for example.

What if the banished also had something similar? How many times could an item be repulsored? Would make for some funny clips. Now I’m thinking they need an Extreme Beach Vollyball mod using repulsors and sticky grenades.

lol those would be lame upgrades imo

Nah. Have you seen the upgrades in the game as is? They are in line with what I described (broader effect, effect does damage, cooldowns, etc).

If repulsor got in somehow, it could work for co-op one day!

I genuinely had the wishful thinking how repulsor could be the perfect equipment to introduce narrativey, you find it on a Spartan who died fighting off the flood. You use it push off those basic flood forms that try to jump on you Facehugger style.

Actually did not pay attention to the upgrades. If it is like what you described, then maybe it could be added later to the game.

The only equipment that seems to have more diverse usage is the grapple, with its shock upgrade, the punch upgrade. Besides the thruster camo, everything else just seems to be increase duration, increase strength, etc. And the drop wall imo continues to be very underwhelming compared to the others.

Random post - I was playing Max Payne 3 recently (still so good) and thinking what if Master Chief had a slo-mo ability :cold_face:

The thruster camo already kind of gives us the template. Imagine using a thruster and you enter bullet time. :cold_face::cold_face::cold_face:
