Halo Battle Royale would have been 'a game changer for the franchise'

Battle Royale have no appeal to me so I wouldn’t have even tried it. But ultimately it sucks for Halo that this didn’t workout and it sucks for fans who aren’t super weird die hards.

Tricky, we don’t know if the battle royale would’ve done enough to take people away from Apex, Warzone, PUBG, and Fortnite. Also, the game would have to be multiplat to have that kind of effect to be a gamechanger. If it’s just on xbox and pc, then it has an uphill battle to climb imo.

There’s no doubt that Halo is built for a BR mode from the drop pods to the vehicles to the concept of large open battle spaces on a Halo Ring that is falling apart.

While BRs are played out and there being a lot of competition, it just makes so much sense from a gaming experience perspective.

But I figure when PH was given the reigns they needed to become laser focused on what Halo will be going forward. This means a clear end-of-life for Infinite at some point in the future and all hands on deck for the release of the next title at that stage.

A BR based on UE5, and not Slipspace, would make far more sense. Despite such a thing meaning we’ll have to wait another 3-5 years if it was actually something being considered.

On the recent Xbox Era podcast the crew had a good suggestion on having something like the CoD launcher and a BR would be a great addition to it.

Maybe but I wouldn’t trust 343 or it’s support studios to build a competent BR that would make it worthwhile to leave the other BR’s for it.

Personally I’m not a fan of BR’s, however if any game is suited to it then it’s Halo!

Maybe they can still revive it in Halo Unreal.

I’m glad it was dropped myself.

I like the fact that Halo multiplayer feels distinct from the rest and it should stay that way.
