I will just copy and paste what I just posted in the XGS OT.
Personally, when I start seeing all the game of the year awards being posted on the following site (https://www.gameawards.net), I believe that the overall game of the year winner will be Halo Infinite if the campaign is great. If not, then I believe that it will be a toss up between a few different games. Either way, it’s going to be close and competitive. It’s not going to be a slaughter or anything like that.

so far i think halo infinite will considering how much i loved the multiplayer if the campaign is the same quality as the multiplayer is Halo Infinite easily thats a huge win for both 343i and Xbox in general

I could see Playground getting a best game direction nod, much like how the Academy tends to give Director but no Picture nods to excellent technical achievements that fall outside their biases.

Good list but would be absolutely painful to see Death’s Door not even nominated for soundtrack, it’s hands downs the best this year. Music from what I’m seeing is a weakpoint in metroid so I don’t know if it will be nominated for that. Also It Takes Two shall win best multiplayer, easy.
