Well, he does say targeting, and it can always slip further. This reveal didn’t have a release year while other titles such as Fable and SoM did. So it seems TC really doesn’t want to commit to 2025 yet.
It means confidence in how the game is shaping up. It’s good news to me.
This Gears of War game is special. Take all the time you need, there’s no rush. People are already excited.

And possibly South of Midnight and Doom: The Dark Ages in the first half of 2025. Let’s freaking go!!!
But don’t underestimate what a release of GTA 6 might do to games that are planned for around that time. I don’t think any game wants to be close to that.
Fable between October and December as per Tom, it can easily slip into 2026.
True. I wouldn’t release Gears of War: E-Day around GTA VI but COD is it’s own beast and Fable is an action RPG and while there’s most likely some cross-over, I don’t think that it would be major.
Either way, give me a first party release every quarter or so throughout the entire year and I will be very pleased and happy!!
It is quite possible that GTA 6 slips into the spring of 2026 IMO.

Strauss Zelnick said they feel very good about fall 2025, but slippage can happen. Something like that. I hope it won’t. The wait has been so damn long already. But if it needs more time, it needs more time.
I was surprised people thought this was a 2026 title as it’s been a while since Gears 5.
