It is slightly odd, as you would think they would have done it the other way round since you can make the case that it is useful for being able to see where characters are in their environment during gameplay.
I guess they really wanted to accentuate their characters during cutscenes, so it is a personal taste whether you like it or not.
This is also true. We will have to wait and see, but I wanted to point out that all games are different and just because Horizon has these options doesn’t mean that Starfield will be able to have them.
We are speculating that there may be a scenario where Bethesda chooses to push the systems hard and that may or may not entail a 30fps target. At the end of the day, you are always dealing with finite resources and choices need to be made how best to use them.
Accepting not perse, but definitely realising the possibility, yep. Todd Howard really wants to go for the visuals with this game , he made that clear in his last interview.
It was during the part where he said he wants a higher framerate for racers like Forza and more shiny visuals for something like Starfield. But definitely doesn’t rule out a performance mode with dynamic resolution.
Did One X and PS4 Pro games have games with optional modes? I’m not sure, because if so, Fallout 76 only had one mode.
Implemented native achievement support on next-gen consoles. Note that as the next-gen version has a different SKU, PlayStation trophies obtained in backward compatibility will not be transferred. Xbox achievements will automatically appear on the new version using the Smart Delivery feature.
This is with regards to the CP2077 update that’s being pushed out right now. Smart Delivery continues to deliver.
Cryptic update to the ray tracing on CP2077 PC that explains the “RT local shadows” on PS5/XSX. The RT shadows setting on PC now also adds ray traced shadows to artificial lights, previously, it was just to the sun light. The tool-tip still erroneously says sun shadows only.
I’ll man up here and say 100% I am perfectly happy with 30fps if it is steady/smooth like FH5. I prefer visuals over performance for WRPG’s personally, presuming there is a notable difference of course.
Something similar to HFW I would be very fine with. The difference can be seen, but it isn’t huge from what I saw. In that case 60fps is the way to go. Same with AC Valhalla, I didn’t see a big difference at all, 30dps in that game was an eyesore.
Todd said in an interview with IGN that he prefers 60 fps himself, but in the end it’s about what target they’re going for, like the ‘immersion’ or whatever. I suspect there will be both options. I don’t think the game is going to be so bottlenecked that it can’t get to 60 fps in some fashion.
