Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

The OG game on Series X is really good and looks amazing, Can’t wait for this which seems like a more flesh out and real game version of the previous game. The current one is pretty cheap and is worth a play through to get ready for the real game.

Even on Xbox? Strange af that it was a total no show at the events.

Didn’t it suffer from some real bad performance issues though? I remember seeing Angry Joe playing it and I noticed the stutters, this been fixed?

No if you go to the games settings anf turn on vsync it plays nice.

It has settings like a PC game. Its under 10$ and well worth it.

Good to know.

I probably should just wait for the full game now though.

It’s already known that there’s no Ps5 version while there’s a one for S X|S so I don’t see why anyone would want a video just to validate that.

Regarding load screens, they are still there on SX but they are quite short and very comparable to most next gen games that still have loading screens. And I’d say that’s already an interesting topic, because in some games different loading times, res and fps were the exact differences between generations and was still covered.

And I’d say the game does some very interesting stuff, like for example the portals and other neat tricks the game pulls off. Would make for a very interesting tech interview

Will be disappointed if there’s no Ray Tracing for Xbox Series X. I am expecting it at the Tokyo Game Show with a release date for November since that’s what happened last year with the Bright Memory demo. Definitely looking forward to this game!!!

I think they have already mentioned that in the Xbox blog last year.

They mentioned that it’s in or not in the game for Series X?

It has RT and 60fps in the vid, so guessing that combo is exclusive to PC for now (since there it can use DLSS). Hoping for RT/perf modes on console though.

A Performance RT mode ala Miles Morales and Ratchet would be great. I will always take lower resolution in favor of 60FPS and RT.

Portals aren’t a new thing…Valve made a whole game built around it once upon a time ya know.

You are really grasping at straws here wrt trying to find ‘interesting’ tech elements to cling to bud. We will see what John cooks up. I’d wager it is almost entirely about how great the game is from an art pov and how it feels good at 120fps more than anything actually novel. And I bet he wants to cover it purely for the sake of him loving the game and its old school game design awesomeness (which can’t be overstated).

no I don’t think he is going to cover it based on the DF Direct today. He was gone for a week when it came out and he got to play it and enjoy it without needing to capture everything and do comparisons. He got to soak in the experience and really enjoyed the game. I don’t think there will be a video, nor does there really need to be. Only boon would be some more exposure to the game.

Ya might be right. I might have misheard him. He says if he wasn’t away for a week he would have made one as he wants to basically gush about how creative it is. Would not be surprised if he does one anyhow. Either way, it got covered on the DF Weekly quite a bit and for the right reasons.

That they are going to leverage DirectX RT (DXR) as far as I remember.

Or we could have checked his twitter account where he said he wasn’t going to cover it on 4 Sept. with the reason and avoided all this pointless speculation.

What was the reason?

Between all these useless speculation… A game actually worthy of a review from DF got slipped away. Craftopia

The game is literally having PC settings on a console to be tested out. Why no one talking about that game?

Was away and by the time he got back it was too late. No big conspiracy. Biggest thing that would have been highlighted would be the 120 mode. And I agree, if you can play in 120, it’s worth it.

Doesnt generate clicks

I think it will generate clicks…

“PC games on Console” or “Xbox is simply a PC”

Click worthy titles
