Forza Motorsport 2023 - What changes and improvements are you wanting to see?

Hopefully during the showcase we will get some more information, and the release date of Forza Motorsport.

From what Turn 10 have said, they have rebuilt Forza from the ground up. All new car model, suspension physics, all new tracks, all new paint shaders (this was one of the weaker elements to Forza games) and some new racing modes.

As well as the rebuilding of the game, Turn 10 have rebuilt the entire Forzatech game engine to bring it into line with all the new Direct X 12, and Xbox series capabilities.

This should mean that we will finally see a game that is taking full use of Mesh Shaders, Sampler feedback streaming and ray tracing amoungst others.

With all this in mind, what are you hoping to see revealed?

Mainly improvements to the career mode:

  • Career rivals.

  • Having to earn the chance to drive for more prestigious car manufacturers.

  • Adopt an F1 approach for race days and grid position; practice, qualifying, race.

It’ll look and feel great, no doubt, but all that is pointless for me unless they actually make the game engaging enough to keep playing.

I want to see real pitstops and race weekends implemented and an AI with more personality. We are on the 8th iteration an M. Rossi is the only memorable menace.

Would be cool to have a horizon style career mode, or something like Grid Legends.

A more fun story/SP experience, proper race formats like others have said like F1 with FP1/FP2FP3/Quali and so on.

A proper career mode which captures the feeling of rising up the ranks as a rookie driver. Don’t need a story mode though.

Raceweekends with qualifying, pitstops, the works.

It’s funny because the detractors of FM will never be happy unless it becomes a full blown sports racing simulator.

And it’s never doing that.

I do think maybe they have an issue with two large car collection games that maybe aren’t differentiated enough.

Don’t know what tracks are there other than Maple Valley and presumably Laguna Seca since that was in the reveal cinematic. Not sure if any others have been seen. I did see though they have said 20 tracks and 5 will be new to FM so not sure where those will be. I’d kinda like if they kept adding more tracks though over time. If it’s going to be a long running game that should be the plan. I know they added the Nurburgring to FM5 the year after it came out.

It’s not like FM has been a success story. It is pretty irrelevant these days and needs a change.

In mi opiniĂłn it needs an engaging story. And I personally would love a true simulator mode.

I got to disagree on the engaging story part, I’ve not seen a racing game successfully pull that off, always comes across as cheesy.

I want to see a more focused story mode, kinda like how GRID did with Legends. But without the cheesy faux interviews. I was really hoping they were going to implement something like that with their whole “reboot” of the series, but I figure if they were going to do that, they would’ve been talking about it already.

Realistically, I hope they have more engaging goals than just “race this and get a trophy.” I would LOVE to see a “Crib” like in NFL 2K5 back in the day. Being able to earn money to buy things from different catalogs and pimp out your home was really friggin cool. They could do so much with a garage setup (The Crew 2 came close).

But of course it would all be microstransactions in this day and age :frowning:

I really want to see an arcade option as well, so you can either race in simulation mode, or arcade mode. Arcade mode would be like Daytona or Ridge Racer, while simulation would be typical Forza MS.

I just hope the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. Career mode that resembles an actual career? Sure, but also let me completely ignore that to just race something like the Mystery Machine against super cars.

A focus on everyday cars instead of supercars. And more european and japanese cars instead of Ford vs Chevy.

No NASCAR, pick up trucks, trucks or other weird stuff

Focus on pre 2005 cars. Modern car design is boring and sterile.

Regarding gameplay they have to find the balance between trowing you money and cars left and right and making it a grind fest. This is a full price AAA, not a F2P.
