Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox Series in Spring 2024

One of the best jrpgs of all time. At least xbox gets Suikoden II

Isn’t Suikoden supposed to launch this year? Is there a date yet?

Nope. No date on Eiyuden Chronicles either whifh is a Suikoden spiritual sequel.

I mean i dont know whats taking Konami so long for Suikoden. Theyre ps1 remasters. But its Konami. Theyve barely made games past 5 years

Stumbled upon this:

In the most generous way I can say…

Fuck off.

They released a development update for Eiyuden this week and said they’re delaying it to Q2 next year.

I’m not a twitter user so I just found out what that blue check next to the name means. Can we assume anyone with a blue check is an idiot?

No. Tusk has given Blue Checkmarks to some folks without them asking or signing up for it.

Biggest news from this is the wording about bringing other SE games to Xbox, if it means games like FF7R and then 16 eventually then that’s a big win, which makes me wonder if the next FF game could launch on all platforms at launch, it only makes sense for a CEO of an independent publisher to want this if they’re not selling, he can immediately be on good graces with the shareholders if releasing on all platforms brings in the most money, we’ll see where this goes!

For the record, the whole timed exclusive for at least FFXVI was set up by the old CEO. If CEO position truly matters, the effect from here on out should be demonstrated.

Yeah, it’s the fact that it is the CEO talking that has me thinking things may be about to change at SE, we’ll see.

Time will tell. Sure was telling when Jim Ryan’s ideal began to surface.

After starting Star Ocean 4 the other day i highly doubt that.

Most of them wo are paying for it are. For this reason I have an auto blocker extension installed in my browser and this guy was one of its ‘victims’. It just works.

Phil really has done so much hard work to get more Japanese games on the XBox, got to give credit to the man for that.

SO2 was considered a classic back in the day

I enjoyed SO4, the gameplay anyway, the story and characters are oof though but it’s considered a steep step down from 2

Iv only played 3 and 4 though

According to Imran Khan who was the originator for the FF16 PS5 exclusive rumor in 2020, no mainline FFs are supposed to come to Xbox, which is why 14 never came (until now).

I guess 16s middling sales were the straw that broke the camels back. As someone who wasn’t expecting them this generation, I am definitely expecting them on Xbox now.

SO2 is a master class tier JRPG. Series fell apart slowly after that. It’s 100% bogus for Xbox players to not get to experience it. I hope that changes.

Square and PlayStation made a deal for Square to become a 2nd party publisher based on sales figure promises to Square. Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 16 don’t come anywhere close to the “projections” that PlayStation told Square to expect. Square decides to go third party again. PlayStation has damaged its reputation with yet another publisher. At this point is their anybody in the industry that hasn’t been stabbed in the back by PlayStation?

I so wish SEGA and Xbox would bring Sakura Wars to Gamepass. Its such a brilliant and overlooked game that’s simply wonderful. I would also love to see SEGA bring Fist Of the North star to Gamepass too

Indeed. Jim Ryan has lost Zenimax, Activision, Blizzard - with more to come - and can no longer guarentee Final Fantasy. They day the mainlines hit game pass, its over.

The PS5 lineup is barren as fuck and doesn’t look like it will ever improve.
