Announced earlier this week on the 26th, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced that their ongoing multiplayer centric title ‘Fallout 76’ has gotten a brand new, free expansion that adds new questlines, open exploration of Atlantic City, and “Season 16: Duel with the Devil”. This update will make some changes to how Seasons work as well—and along with that, if you’re a Fallout 1st member, you will automatically get the Seasons Pass and access to premium rewards.

Have a gander at the details below along with the patch notes for more details on Fallout 76’s latest Atlantic City expansion. Fallout 76 is currently available on Xbox Game Pass as well as PC via Steam and PlayStation consoles.

America’s Playground brings you back to Atlantic City, where Mayor Tim, in charge of the local Municipal Government, asks you to deal with the Overgrown threat that is taking over the flooded city center. Don’t forget to bring your gardening shears.

Meanwhile, in Appalachia, the Russo family has evicted the Mothman cultists and turned the Ingram Mansion into a swanky night club. They seem to be doing well after escaping their blood-stained past in Atlantic City, but beneath the surface of their glamorous exterior, the Russos are harboring some dark secrets, and they need your help.

There’s a lot to dig into in this update, and along with new quests, we are introducing free exploration of Atlantic City! There are even new side quests that you can pick up from the ever-optimistic Jeremiah Hopkin’s bulletin board in the Whitespring Resort, so make Atlantic City your next vacation destination. Take your time, wade through the flooded streets, stroll along the boardwalk and stop to smell the Overgrown.

Season 16: Duel with the Devil begins today, and this time the theme is an epic fight between Rip Daring (of Astoundingly Awesome Tales fame) and the Jersey Devil!

You will also notice we have made some changes to Seasons. The Scoreboard has been replaced by pages where you can see all the rewards that are available. As you complete challenges and earn S.C.O.R.E., you will rank up and unlock new pages. For each rank, you earn 25 tickets. You can then redeem those tickets for rewards on pages you have already unlocked.

In addition, we are now offering the Fallout 1st Seasons Pass. If you are a Fallout 1st member, you will automatically get the Seasons Pass and access to premium rewards. Players who are not Fallout 1st members will still have access to the base rewards. You also have the option of purchasing the Fallout 1st Seasons Pass in the Atomic Shop, so you can get the premium rewards too.

You can read more about Season 16 here.

Check the download sizes below for today’s update on your platform of choice:

  • PC (Steam): 17.1GB
  • PC (Microsoft Store): 27.1GB
  • Xbox: 27.08GB
  • PlayStation: 26.1GB

When we last left the glitzy boardwalk of Atlantic City, we had run a deadly game show with the Showmen and even encountered The Family, the local organized crime outfit. Now, the leader of Atlantic City’s own Municipal Government, Mayor Tim, calls upon your help against an invasion of Overgrown. Can you fend off the dangerous plant-like beings encroaching upon Atlantic City in this all-new Expedition Mission?

Back home in Appalachia, players will embark upon a new multi-mission questline surrounding the glamorous Russo Family. Opening a new nightclub in Appalachia, the Russos hope to start a quieter – though still comfortable – life away from the rat race of Atlantic City. Sadly, that won’t be in the cards: As a deadly plot unfolds, players must uncover the skeletons (or perhaps devils) lurking in the Russo family’s closet in this new quest coming to Fallout 76.

Atlantic City – America’s Playground also expands upon Fallout’s take of post-nuclear New Jersey, allowing players to further explore the City at their own leisure or even take on new Side Quests. Meet with the local merchants and shop or even play part in passing on the torch within the inner circle of The Family!

The Scoreboard is changing to a new and improved Seasons Menu! At the start of every new season, you’ll be able to view all the exciting rewards you can earn and even the rewards offered after rank 100! Rewards are displayed across multiple pages, which can be unlocked as you reach the required rank. Every time you rank up, you will earn 25 Tickets which can be redeemed for rewards on the pages you’ve unlocked. Just like with the Scoreboard, all you need to do to increase your rank is earn S.C.O.R.E. by completing challenges.

Please Note: Make sure you use all your tickets before the end of the season as unused tickets expire and do not carry over.

All players will have access to the base rewards in each season, just like the Scoreboard. Fallout 1st members will automatically have access to the Fallout 1st Season Pass which provides access to the premium rewards in each season. We’re offering something new with Season 16 – non-Fallout 1st players will be able to purchase the Fallout 1st Season Pass in-game with Atoms to gain access to these rewards.

Challenges and the S.C.O.R.E. required to gain a rank in seasons have not changed as part of this update and players can expect to make progress at the same rate as in the previous seasons.

Fallout 76 is updating from a scoreboard to a Seasons Pass system – featuring pages and tickets, allowing you more flexibility in claiming rewards.

You’ll continue to earn S.C.O.R.E. and rank up by completing daily and weekly challenges (the same as before)! As you earn ranks, you will unlock more Season Pages. On each Season Page, you can see what rewards are available ahead of time, get a closer look at those rewards and earn the ones you really want by redeeming them in any order. Each time you rank up, you will get 25 tickets, and you can redeem those tickets for any reward on Season Pages that you have already unlocked.

Even after rank 100, you can still acquire and redeem tickets for a variety of player vanity, C.A.M.P. and consumable items. Make sure to use your tickets because they do expire at the end of the season.

Fallout 1st members automatically get free access to the Fallout 1st Seasons Pass (which includes premium rewards). Don’t worry if you are not already a Fallout 1st member, you can still get in on the extra rewards by picking up a Fallout 1st Seasons Pass for 1500 Atoms in the Atomic Shop.

Fear not! This season, the astoundingly awesome and unfailingly patriotic Rip Daring is duking it out with the Jersey Devil. No one but the burly hero–and Nurse Guinevere and Percival–could stand toe to toe with the fearsome cryptid stalking New Jersey.

Except you, Vault Dweller. You, too, can don the outfit of the famed cryptid hunter and take down devils with an all-new weapon, Cremator! Once unlocked, the Cremator will be craftable and moddable at Weapon Workbenches once you hit level 30.

This season, you can also unlock Adelaide, the amazing Assaultron actress who will adorn your C.A.M.P. and deign to sign autographs for all her adoring fans.
