mopped Rennala without issues, now i’m getting my ass handed in the Carian Hall
I had to get some explosive bolts and the vendor is in an annoying spot so I just killed him and got the bell bearing and then gave it to the maidens at my base and now I can just buy them there. should I be killingall these merchants to do this. I feel if I go on this killing spree im about to There will be issues down the road
It was nice of them to nuke just about everything that made the game playable for normies in the latest patch.
I heard they nerfed Bloody Slash as well, making it near useless now?
In the patch notes it says they increased the wind up time. I hope only for quick weapons since it was already slow on great weapons.
Generally, if you do this in Souls games there’s always repercussions.
This is officially the fastest selling 3rd party game of all time from a japanese publisher. I think its probably number 2 if you include nintendo and first party as animal crossing sold faster.
12 million in 3 weeks is rockstar and cod level territory or in that same bracket even if on the lower end.
If we also think about full game price thats nearly a billion in revenue. Uncharted territory for namco
Didnt they expect 4 million by end of march? Hahaha
Yup, now watch, everyone is going to be on the Elden Ring train and try to replicate it. I bet you Square, Capcom, Ubisoft, EA, T2 are all going to do everything in their power to saturate the market with Souls likes.
Thats happened before with souls games we got a shit ton of clones. ER is way too ambitious for people to copy. BOTW only had like 1 clone in 5 years.
If anything it should at least make devs think about what they do in the open world. Give players more freedom but don’t guide them every step of the way.
Not sure how close Dragon’s Dogma 2 is close to completion, but I’d love to see it take some open world design from ER. Elden Ring felt like it did a lot of things Dragon’s Dogma wanted to do before the budget was massively slashed.
For those trying to find a new build after the patch I would recommend arcane bleed which is insane. Things like rivers of blood or blood godskin peeler. They melt enemies
I used it last night. HP hit has been increased, but the wind up time increase was barely noticeable to me. I already had to have sufficient distance to pull it off since any enemy attack disrupted the animation (it’s still bullshit to me that my actions can get disrupted but other enemies aren’t affected the same way).
I did unlock Carian Greatsword ashes last night and have been using that in place of bloody slash since that has had better utility for me.
Yeah I figure Bloody Slash has been viable post patch as well, many have been saying as much. And Arcane scaling is now proper, I didn’t even know that was an issue before but did feel like the few points I put in didn’t do much, so I ended up always rolling with Keen than Blood.
But goddamn, that Sword of Night and Flame got nerfed mad hard tho lmao. But I guess its still pretty good for a melee weapon that can double as a pretty powerful magic one.
Godskin Apostle boss fight was pretty fuckin tight ngl. Took a while to get to know his moveset which all hit like a truck, but damn, that was one of the better bosses in the game (at least from how much I’ve played). It’s simply true that Fromsoft is much much better at designing humanoid, normal scale bosses (Genichiro, Isshin, Lady Maria, Godskin Apostle, etc) than big ass dudes or monsters (looking at you Radahn, Demon of Hatred, etc).
Also, shoutout to the player who helped me through Ainsel River Well from beginning to end. You’re the real hero.
I know some people abhor the summon system in the Souls series; thinking it’s “easy mode” and antithetical to the game’s intentions, but I feel that Elden Ring has fine-tuned the system to be a valuable resource while also retaining difficulty. Because I highly doubt I could have cleared that area, let alone defeat the boss, without help. Between the clay enemies which can easily overwhelm you and have relatively high health pools, to the fucker that shoots Rocksling from the ceiling, to the boss that has fucking frost lightning, that whole area felt like it required combined effort.
I really like these River Wells dotted around the world–they’re very fun dungeons. I already tried–and noped out of–Siofra River Well because I was way too under-leveled. Ainsel felt challenging but relatively fair, but Siofra was/is the far more beautiful environment.
Beat the game couple days ago, put 100 hours in. Great game but i do not agree that the open world exploration is the best thing since sliced bread. Weak loot, many resuses of bosses, ruins, caves and catacombs. Yes, i get it saves time and budget but really disappointing coming from all the hype.
There is a hidden wall that you can get through after 50 hits in the game. Now everyone must replay the game and check each and every single surface for hidden passages.
The world design is gorgeous, and so are the legacy dungeons. But the optional dungeons are bog standard boring slomps after a while. I made use of an interactive map to only do the content I’m interested in and is beneficial to me.
I think I have had my fill. Probably won’t see the end. That recent patch took a huge dump on my character and now I can barely make any progress.
