The standard ending has three extra variants depending on items you get according to different quests(dung eater, goldmask and Fiaās quest lines)
I beat Radahn. Finally. Just got through the Mimic Tear fight, now moving through that area.
I decided to start clearing out all the small dungeons in Limgrave yesterday. Have probably cleared 5 or 6 at the moment but theyāve all been a nice reprieve from the main storyline. I was trying to get through Raya Lucaria Academy but felt like I was still underleveled for that area (currently RL47 but guides recommend 50-60). Not to mention that all of my main spells are glintstone-based and all of the enemies have higher defenses against that particular type of sorcery.
What is the item that allows me to respec and how far into the game do I need to go to get it? I think Iām ready to move on from INT and just divert it all into Faith. Hell, I may switch entirely from Dex/Int to a Str/Faith build considering the kinds of weapons available for high strength builds.
Lol I totally cheesed that mimic tear fight. After dying a couple times, I just ran into the room with nothing equipped, so it spawned with nothing equipped. Then I called my sellsword summon to keep it busy, equipped all my gear, and laid waste to it.
I used Lhutel to distract and hid around pillars. Easy fight.
The only respec I am aware of comes from a person, not an item - and you cannot access it until you finish the Academy.
Have you started Sellen and Ranniās quest lines? Did you find the Academy scroll? Have you been to the Church of Vows? Have you done Caria Manor? All of those provide new spells.
I found the Carian Slicer to be super useful in the Academy against all the trash mobs.
I honestly donāt know if Iāve started either questline. I have bought several spells from Sellen already and turned in a couple of sorcerer texts. I donāt know if Iāve gotten the Academy scroll but most likely I havenāt.
This game is just so massive. Ever since Stormveil, I feel like Iām lost in where to go. Hence why Iāve double-backed to Limgrave to clear more stuff. Just feel very underpowered.
I hear you. There is nothing worse for me than banging my head against a bunch of enemies when I know they would be easier if I had a few more levels (or weapon levels).
I typically do everything I can find in an area - and the earlier areas - before tackling the big dungeon/boss in an area.
I did Caria Manor way before I tackled the Academy (I actually did it before Goderick as well), but you will need a pretty good spirit to tank the boss there or that will be a long fight. I think I I had Lhutel at level 3 then and barely scraped by in that fight.
Beat Malenia on my second attempt.
the fight with the Ancestor Spirit in the Siofra river is beautiful, almost sad
Agreed. Made me feel bad but had to do what must be done.
That whole area has been a highlight for me. Accidentally stumbled into it at a really low level but I did co-op the bossfight. The music for the fight was so good as is the ambient music for the entire area.
I ended up just rushing to the elevator at the far end of the map just to get out of there, though. Iāll venture down there and finish lighting the torches later on.
I am an astrologer and Rennala is kicking my arse. I feel i am in a sticky situation where my melee isnāt strong enough and rocksling cast is too slow
You can get weapons and have them scale with INT use some magic amendments.
Rennala you canāt stand back and spam magic it doesnāt work with her own magic spams
Iām a magic user too and I beat her with this Crystal Sword I had i upgraded to +6.
Summon some dogs or knights to keep her busy and make sure you are light or med in armous to dodge her magic. When she summons her own spirits just run back and use magic or run away from them.
IF you can learn to dodge her magic attacks shes easy. But it takes time to move around them consistently.
gotcha, will try that or level some more to get some more vigor. I just wish the site of grace was closer, and I havenāt used summon yet but doesnāt seem to be a summoning stone near
its absolute bullshit that Rennala boss room doesnt have a Stake of Marika, but I learned that, just like the rune stealer in Stormveil, there is an in-game reason why it is the way it is and it is kinda wild actually.
Marika had two halves, one male and one female. The female half being Marika, and the male half being Radagon. Radagon who was of Erdtree house was sent to confront Rennala of Caria family (House of the Moon), but instead fell in love with her and they had several children (namely Radahn, Malenia, Margit, Ranni, etc). That was an era of peace in the lands between.
But one day, Radagon left Rennala after Godfrey, the first Elden Lord became Tarnished and was exiled from the Lands Between. So there was a power vacuum, which Radagon went back to fill, and became the Second Elden Lord and he married Marika. So basically the two halves of Marika married lol.
Rennala was obviously pissed, and felt Marika stole Radagon from him. As such, there is no stake of Marika in the entirety of Raya Lucaria academy.
Just finished the game. Encountered a bug at the end though lol. Did her whole questline perfectly, but Ranni doesnāt call me dear consort eternal 0/10 want my money back
My review after finishing the game:
- Game looks great due to strong art direction.
- Great variety in zones. I think it might even be unmatched in delivering interesting unique zones in an open world game.
- it maintains the tight gameplay of Dark Souls.
- great variety in possible builds
- The main bosses were fun and unique. ~ Game is heavily unbalanced ~ I became tired of facing the same field bosses ~ Some zones overstayed their welcome
- Loading times were doodoo
- Consecrated Snowfield and Mountaintop of giants were awful.
- Had some bugs and technical difficulties
Solid 9/10 for me.
Edit: Plusses and minuses become bullet points?
