Elden ring number 1 despite being out for 3 days probably 2 if the numbers are to 26th.
Ps5 had Sifu horizon and elden ring and series consoles still outsold it.
Obviously supply issues but this proves one thing. Xbox is going to be a problem for sony in the Na market this gen. Despite only having a multiplat its still selling out and putting up great numbers.
We cannot judge Xbox the same way anymore. With two Xbox Series consoles, PC and XCloud (TV app) it will have a lot of entry points they ways you can play will be plenty. We wonât be able to judge the game by sales because not only the game sells on PC and Xbox, it will be also available in Game Pass for PC, Xbox and TV. I guess the metrics are gonna be the engagement and not the sales. However we will still have NPD and other stuff, and will lead to annoying discussions about Game Pass and how it affects salesâŚ
No but we can judge pure hardware sales. And Xbox despite having very little of exclusive games and higher entry pointsâŚis still putting up huge numbers compared to the all mighty PlayStation 5 which was supposed to dominate like the PS2 gen.
Depends if youre into multiplayer. If not. its irrelevant. If anything youâll benefit from playing it later as there will be so many great guides by then.
Part of me unironically hopes this can happen lmao . I think I have like 80 hours now and I still havenât uncovered the whole map and still have a ton of boss achievements left.
Iâm playing astrologer too. I changed my potion loadout for the fight (mostly health with just a few mana). Depending on your level and your spec you could also consider respeccing to get some more hp just for the fight. I donât think there is any way to avoid getting hit in the fight (at least none I could figure out). So having enough health to take a hit or two is crucial.
It took me about 10 tries to get him. I was completely out of potions and had about 10% of my health bar left when he went down.
I spent most of my time just riding around reviving allies, and only went in to attack when I was reasonably sure they had his attention. (He still hit me several times though.) I was shocked how much damage the comet spell did to him. I really only had to get about 5 or 6 hits on him in each phase. The problem was that after two hits he always turned on me. Ha.
If all else fails, there is apparently a way to apply a debuff to him so you can cheese the fight. Iâm sure you could find details online.
Finished my first playthrough(pure dex) last night after 100 hours and the plat. What a great game and jumped onto my top ten list of all time. Iâve reloaded before the end and started planning for a second play through, though I may wait a bit before starting it for more info to pop up about a lot of the non essential quests and npcâs as I screwed up a few of those. Need to decide between a pure strength build, a faith build or an intelligence one. Would recommend staying to one main focus for anyone as the scaling goes upto 80 so youâre going to do a lot more damage that way then trying a hybrid atleast for your first playthrough(though quality will still be fine).
I continue to be amazed at this all time great game to be honest. The sense of mystery and accomplishment is pretty much unmatched for me in anything for many years. This is almost certainly a runaway GOTY. I think that the only other game that could come close this year would be if Bethesdaâs first new IP in 20 years in Starfield ended up being insanely good, which would at least put something in the running. I am not even sure if the God of War sequel even makes this calendar year, but I just donât see even a high scoring sequel that appears to be God of War 1.5 beating out Elden Ring.
This. Also the amount of content is crazy and absurdâŚI donât understand how they did this. Itâs like they made this game for 10 years or something.
It would be cool if they snuck things into to game while patching it up. Maybe dropping little hits or new enemies in the game thatâll lead up to some big DLC. Frontier did this with Elite Dangerous and added aliens into the game in some random patch without telling anyone and people were like WTF when they started encountering them.
As my first Souls game, liking it so far for the most part. Donât really agree thus far with the commentary about it being supposedly the best open world design ever though. It does bring something really unique to that design space though, which is using monsters/enemies to dot the landscape as things to see from afar and then go find/kill. Normally that kinda thing is reserved for structures or landscape features, so this is a neat card for a Souls game to play that others can learn from I think. The world itself feels entirely un-fleshed out wrt lore as presented to players though. A combo of Skyrimâs open world design and ERâs could be almost perfect.
Did anyone finish it yet? I need to know when the âpoint of no return happensâ, when you canât go through anymore on side-quests related to the ending.
Nope. I read that you canât go through Ranniâs side-quest after beating the game, because her side-quest unlocks a special ending. I need to know at what point all the side-quests with special endings are locked so you can only get the standard ending.
As far as I know just like in Dark Souls 3 for a major character like her you need to complete her side quests before fighting the last boss so her summon sign will appear afterwards
When you play other souls games they have a lot of content too. Obviosuly not in this scope but From have been making enourmous games for a while. I think the time was spent making the open world. The gameplay mechanics were already there. They didnt need to spend time revolutionising their core gameplay. They didnt need to spend thousands of man hours trying to program horse mechanics like rockstar. Or trying to program complex UI systems or shove a billion NPC story and object interactions like a cyberpunk. Or try and do facial animations and making thr game super pretty like a horizon 2.
They just built a world thats incredibly well designed to fit their core concept. This is why the game is enourmous. Most of their dev time went into making the game big with cool and interesting bosses and enemies. But also building a carefully expertally crafte world that exists simply as a terrain for the enemies.
