Elden Ring |OT| Rise Tarnished & Become The Elden Lord (of the dance!)

I don’t know how it looks on PS4 but My cousin got the game on his Base Xbox One and it looks like a Switch game. Not joking. It looks like how Dark souls looked on 360 its so bad and blurry Holy hell. Runs like garbage too. But he doesn’t care.

Anyway. Playing on XSX, great game. Amazing game. Can we have more appreciation for the Menu music? Its stunning

It’s an incredible theme, huh? I let it loop a few times with headphones on when I first booted up the game.

Oh you mean the dude that compared controller latency on XSX vs PS5… using Xbox One controllers?

Ok guys I’m leaving this to y’all. I’m on the purchase page rn and the game’s gonna cost me $40. I’m on Series S and don’t know if the performance will be good enough for me

So, I’ve been playing for hours… And I’ve only just decided to go meet my level up lady friend and get my horse. I’ve just been too busy exploring. Had a nice little stick pile of so….Runes.

It’s a bit good, as expected. But holy hell, some massive problems leaving me questing my sanity. Let’s put aside performance for a second, and talk about loading… How the heck can a pc with a sata hdd be loading this faster than the series x…? How…? Hell the PS4 is currently loading it faster.

The more I play, the more I absolutely love it, but technically they have done absolutely zero for the Xbox console at all to take advantage of just about anything. The low resolution, the frame rate drops, and the at times murky visuals are making me constantly ask why it’s not 4k/60, when everything on me says it really could be.

It doesn’t distract from the game being an absolute gem. FROM games are always technical messes, and this just won’t get solved or fixed. It’s not happened before and I can’t see it happening now.

I do hope they drop the res at least down to 1400, as that would sort out a fair few issues I think. But the HARDWARE is not the problem here so who knows really!

Did from say anything about fixing frame rates on consoles

It does lend the to the whole, FromSoftware treats Xbox like a second class citizen theory though, of course that could be because it is dx12 on Xbox and PC while not on ps5? . And FromSoftware is a very talented dev team but a pretty technically deficient when it comes to optimization, the only time their games come out being technically good is when they are remastered( don’t know if they even do it themselves) like Scholar and DSR on Xb1.

Edit: and DS3 was fixed by Microsoft on Xbox.

??!!

I’m on series s and I don’t mind the performance, its par for the course for from software games.

I know right? My friend has a pc with a 512 SSD and it’s loading in about 8 seconds tops.

I mean… They clearly just put minimum effort here, and that’s really quite sad, as the games amazing. But FROM always treat Xbox this way.

Yeah… I’m really just confused right now whether to buy it or not :sob: if I do I feel like I’ll support their neglectful incompetence

In fairness the games incredible, it’s just a technical mess in a few ways.

How’s the loading times (after death specifically and fast travel as well)?

I didn’t know about that one. His technical claims have been picked apart so readily on other technical forums.

Unsure if hot take but with all of these technical issues at launch how does it get a 95+ Score on metacritic
