Hmmmmm good.
until cross gen is over lol.
Makes no sense.
I did!
HOW DARE YOU, HEATHEN
Almost as if EA is letting their studios do kinda whatever they want lmao. If this keeps netting me singleplayer games from Bioware I dont care.
In speaking with the EA Motive leads, the duo made it clear that this is not just a polished up version of the original Dead Space - though theyâre obviously referencing the original game, and working with a hefty amount of development data, theyâre completely rebuilding and remaking the game in EAâs Frostbite engine.
âThen in terms of visuals, sound, gameplay, everything, we are rebuilding all of these assets. We are not porting them, itâs not uprezzing the texture or adding more polygons to the model. Itâs really rebuilding all these elements, shooting all the animations, et cetera.â
âWe want to make that immersion even deeper with a fully interactive experience, from the start screen to the end credits. We donât want anything to pull you out of the experience and we donât want any cuts,â Campos Oriola said. [The faster SSDs of new consoles mean] thereâs not going to be any loading. Thereâs not going to be any moment where weâre going to cut your experience, where weâre going to cut your camera. You can play it from the start screen to the end credits seamlessly.â
âWe wanted to use the sounds youâre used to as well and improve those sounds, and improve this immersion so the sounds of the door that youâre hearing, the sound of the health bar, the sound of the creatures⌠weâre building on top of the original and recreating it, but [we] make sure it is true to the original and that we are honoring the legacy of the original game,â Ducharme said, while also discussing how the addition of 3D audio could add to the experience.
â3D audio [will also add the] understanding of where the sound comes from, having the right propagation, in the corridors, making it come from the vents above you, or behind you. These are all things that weâll be able to expand on to increase the level of immersion.â
âWe donât want to be in siloed and create our own bubble of the game weâre making. So from the conception, weâve reached out to members of the community to create a community council to be a sounding board for what we were making. Making sure that if weâre deciding to make a change, we want to be able to explain it and get told if, âNo, what are you doing? What were you thinking? Youâre actually breaking the game, why are you changing this,ââ Ducharme explained.
âWeâre also learning from mistakes such as microtransactions, which we will not have, for instance, in our game,â he continued, confirming that the team âneverâ has plans to introduce microtransactions in any way to the remake.
EA can do whatever the fuck they want with FIFA at this point cuz Ive given up on it ever improving, but they just gotta let everyone else under them do what they want and if that means a 20+ million playerbase game like JFO from Respawn or EA Originals like It Takes Two, Knockout City or Lost in Random, or Dragon Age and Mass Effect singleplayer only sequels, and now Dead Space, shiiiyut, keep em coming.
Think along the lines of what Resident Evil 2 Remake did, But with more story aspects apparently
I have to say i enjoyed that stream
this is really cool to hear. It just makes me think of all the shit 343 could have perhaps learned from in their earlier days if they had this sort of community thing, but then again, Iâm very confident that Dead Space community is exponentially less divided than the Halo one lol
and less toxic for that matter
lol i had originally written âless divided and toxicâ but edited out the latter, but thanks for readding it haha
Yea its insane its like the halo community doesnât know what it wants at times
So jedi fallen orderâs success got us a new Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Dead Space⌠
Dragon Age been a known thing since before Fallen Order and Mass Effect Legendary Edition more of trying to get Bioware some good will after a rough generation.
Dead Space is a result of JFO tho.
Bioware are developing a new Mass Effect, thatâs what Iâm referencingâŚ
Oh
Still think that one is to show people that IP isnt Dead and they have faith in Bioware but yeah the success of JFO surely helped here.
