This reminds me, I still have to pre-order the game (lol) which I will do a few days before release. Very much looking forward to Dragon Age as im expecting it to be my game of the year. Yay!!
Game was awesome IMO. I never played the others though.
I finally got around to play the trial of this game. I’m enjoying it. I don’t understand the hate it got. I mean it’s different from the other Dragon Age games i played but it’s fun.
i never played any of the others. might give this a shot
I would play the other games first… Or at the very least watch recap videos.
Ah man, for some reason I thought this thread meant that it went up for Xbox recently as in Game Pass via EA Play, haha.
Honestly, I can see it happening sooner rather than later because it’s been part of PS Plus already too.
I thought so too, haha.
I’m playing the game right now, about half way through. It’s a good game, hope more people get to play it. The absolute bulk of it is outside the very linear main story, there’s a lot of content and story here, all connected to the previous games.
That sounds great. I’m gonna have to read summaries of all three games because I unfortunately never finished Origins, I could not get used to the combat, loved everything else though. 2 was a slog to get through, but I did but forgot most of the story stuff and same for DAI.
But it’s good to read all the positive impressions about the game. All the more sad that it didn’t do super well from what I’ve read.
You will enjoy the combat in this I think. It’s very ARPG, reminds me a lot of Mass Effect with the combos etc. but with more melee. It’s very fun. I’m playing a Warrior with a parry based Champion specialization, tanky and agressive. Very active build, fun!
Gameplay is not the most important to me though, and there’s lots of other good stuff here. Very good story, lots of side content and companion quests/interactions. Companions are varied and mostly great. There’s tons of lore to dig up, and exploration. puzzles (a bit too simple maybe) and things to do.
My only gripe with the game is that the writing of dialogues etc. can be a bit too Young Adult, it’s a bit too childish at times and Marvel-esque in its banter. Especially in interactions with companions.
That might be for the best TBH. It’s an okay game - good graphics, combat is fine. As a follow up to the first three Dragon Age games, and possibly the last Dragon Age game for the foreseeable future, it’s pretty disappointing.
