My list of complaints is long haha. First we have the symmetrical stick layout which just plain sucks. The sticks themselves feels wobbly, the other buttons on the front is soft plasticky feeling, it’s both too small and weirdly shaped which gives me cramp in my hands after an hour or so. It really feels like a chinese knock-off bought at a market.
The cord that comes with it when the shitty internal battery dies is so short that you can’t use it to play whilst it charges.
Worst of all though is the piss poor quality. I’m on my third DS4 now, and I’ve used them less than a hundred hours combined. Stick drift. Stick drift/half dead battery. Stick drift.
I never touched the DS4, but recently had a gaming session on the PS5 and was impressed with the feel of the Dual Sense, especially when playing Gran Turismo. The battery life sucks though.
DS4 was really bad yeah…I am on my third too, in the first one the right analogue stick stopped responding when pushing left (I remember I was playing The Last Guardian back then) and in the second one R2 got completely fucked for no apparent reason not even after a year I bought it…at least the first one had 400 hours in Bloodborne. In the first one the battery life was about 3-4 hours when playing something intense, battery life is laughable. lol
Regardless of how this looks to people like us, extra eyeballs on one of their games which might result in more sales for a sequel is probably a silver lining at least.
Funniest thing about this is ps fans seem to care, and xbox fans seem really not to. I for one thing definitely won’t be playing it, if it was on xbox too I might’ve given it a chance.
Even if it was on xbox i wouldnt play it again. Pkayed it at launch for 10 hours and dropped it. One of the most boring games ever with an even nonsensical story.
I have been playing for about 4 hours or so on my work laptop. It isn’t as bad as I thought and I have heard from people. I wouldn’t have paid money for the game even though I own a PS4 Pro, but since it is included in gamepass I have been playing during down times throughout the day. It is a bit quirky and the controls and mechanics are a bit confusing sometimes, but I am enjoying more than I thought I would. Makes me wish all of PS’s games would come to gamepass. a year ago I would have never through I’d be playing Death Stranding on Gamepass with an XBox controller getting 170 gamerscore so far. If anything everyone that can should try the game out so Sony is blown away by the user count and sees that Gamepass is a great Idea.
I’m not too sure Sony will see the analytics being that 505 owns the PC publishing rights and distrubuted the game. They own the IP and get royalties per game sold but the game isn’t being sold here.
Playing in ultrawide and it runs extremely well on my 5800x with an rtx 3080. Game is gorgeous, and it has that Kojima vibe to it obviously which I’m a big fan of.
I’ve only played the first hour, but so far it’s quite enjoyable. The gameplay mechanics are a bit clunky, but the overall setting and graphics are excellent. Will obviously need to play more to see how the story pans out, but I think this could be a good experience.
I had my doubts about whether I would like trying this one or not, but I figured that is the great thing about Game Pass Ultimate that includes PC Game Pass in this case. I played for several hours yesterday and found myself pulled into this strange world and story so far at least. I have a pretty beefy gaming PC that I built earlier this year with an RTX 3080Ti where I was getting around 150 fps with max graphic settings in 4K using the Nvidia DLSS Quality setting, which was kinda cool to actually get some run on my PC that my boys have mostly used so far
I haven’t personally really played Kojima games, so this may give me more interest in whatever crazy project he is working on with Xbox now.
