Wow, that’s Rockstar numbers. Insane!
At this point, 50 hours in, I feel qualified to say it.
Keanu Reeves is damn good as Johnny Silverhand.
Yea Johnny is one hilarious asshole but love the character development
It’s just a small part compared to another huge list of missing features. But they can still dodge this bullet by saying work in progress.
Even more sad, here take a look.
Apparently dev didn’t go well as planned also. On another note, investors are taking action against CDPR for the reason of
" misrepresentation in order to obtain financial benefits. "
We’ll see how it will turn out in the end.
As for the sales numbers, impressive indeed but not near Rockstar level. Not even Rockstar quality level. Now there’s a lot of work ahead to bring back the trust.
On a positive note, despite my disappointment with some elements the 1st person view is one of the best thing to happen to the game the sequence plan is incredible super immersive, really loved it. Animation etc top notch with the cutscenes. Some games should really take note.
Also Takemura really good bro:+1:Panam
Every actor in the game does an incredible job tbh.
INSIDER INFO FROM CDPR - DEVELOPMENT TIMELINE (TW2 - CP2077)
Don’t know if it’s true but it lines up with what we heard
To clarify this part about investors ‘taking action’, it’s not about the game itself actually. It’s about Sony de-listing it. The whole premise of the class action effort is the idea that CDP knew it was potentially gonna be de-listed and didn’t warn anyone. Given that Sony didn’t de-list other titles with similar technical problems (GTAV on PS3, for example) and the fact that the worst version is the X1S sku and that was not de-listed, I bet the suit gets tossed or not brought at all. CDP has what will probably be a good enough defense.
I finished the game and went back finishing a lot of side quests so I have a better view of the game shortcomings and flaws. There is really great missions and story content, so when you’re in the middle of it, it’s impressive and I really enjoyed most of it.
But overall, the game feels rushed. Even the dialogue and options are underwhelming for an RPG. There is a blatant lack of focus in the quests and differents approaches, which requires a lot of playtesting. There is some 11/10 moments but the rest is 7-8/10, so it’s difficult to have a clear opinion of the game.
I’m really questionning the Keanu Reeves theory that they had to change so much of the game to fit him in most of the scenes. It could explain a lot of the troubles the team had to get through. So if that’s true, the result is not that bad, but they needed 1 or 2 more years to fully realize that…
The source of the info appears to be some random person from Poland claiming to have an anonymous source inside CDPR…why are you posting this? o.0
You are giving the distinct impression that you’re scouring the internet in search of scandalous things to post about this game…
Yes agree with you on the general sentiment about the game. And maybe 2 more years of cooking could help. We’ll see.
Yeah, I dont know how CPDR will react. I mean, they have a whole lot of cash, so they could do nothing… But it will probably bury them as a company…
I don’t expect a redemption arc à la No Man’s Sky, but maybe they could work on a “director’s cut version” or something, while they work on that crunching culture… So there is some tough decisions coming.
But let’s see what they’ve got on the DLC side first, if that’s still on the cards…
Gamers don’t often remember or care much about launches tbh. The game is plenty playable right now even on base consoles. It will get notably better in January and February and by the time next gen upgrades show up most will have forgiven them. A game struggling at launch with tons of different skus during 2020 is not exactly unheard of. Nor are games too ambitious for their britches.
NMS was very different, as it was an actual case where right before the game came out the designer explicitly and outright lied about a core gameplay feature he said was in the game that just flatly wasn’t.
CDPR, on the contrary, has given us tons of footage detailing the gameplay from top to bottom since August or so and the game is not materially different at launch from what those showing portrayed.
I think they’ll try their best to bring back the trust and repair their reputation. That’s also what they said in the emergency call meeting by announcing the 2 big patches to fix the bugs & glitches.
That’s what I hope cause the game has great potential. Some foundations are here. Some things need to be tweaked, others to be overhauled. For example, they made an enhanced edition for The Witcher 1 where they reworked lots of things. They need to do it cause otherwise it would cast a doubt on their next project The Witcher “4”
Yeah, NMS was a bad example. You get the idea.
Next-gen version will iron out most of the flaws in the graphics department and improve a lot the perfomances. RT will be the cherry on top.
But I hope they aknowledge the other flaws. I don’t expect Keanu Reeves to come back to record lines, but I’ll take anything they could add back to the game. Maybe in the DLC.
I need more Cyberpunk !!
Oh yeah I actually forgot about the standard sorta DLC stuff too. I’m sure no actors will abandon their contracts though. The game is selling wildly well and ppl will move past trolling it for attention before too long. I wonder if they will do DLC via huge expansions like Witcher or smaller stuff. I’d REALLY love a NG+ right about now.
I’ve seen this theory being talked about elsewhere. Got to say I don’t think it holds much weight. It doesn’t seem likely to me that Keanu Reeves was hired late in development & then the entire story of the game rewritten to accommodate him in the story.
I think it’s much more likely that making big, ambitious games like Cyberpunk is simply hard work, needs a lot of people & takes a long time. They simply bit off more than they could chew & didn’t have the manpower or the time to fully flesh out every little feature & gameplay element. I think at a certain point a decision was made to focus on the story, main missions, side missions & all relevant character models, etc…
Of course, I could be wrong. Just putting my opinion out there.
I think the rumor about Keanu is coming from an interview where the writers aknowledged that Reeves’ role has been expanded further than what was first planned. So yeah, you’re right, we are only guessing what it meant for development planning. But surely, it added some more work for the devs.
I think it’s for the better though. He’s the star of the game quite literally. His small appearances in side quests is what makes the “busy work” worthwhile imo.
Nice…13M sold through in 10 days after refunds. CDPR baby!!!
This. Especially in 2020 given everything happening.
That’s pretty good. Witcher 4 by 2030
