Conduit is a symmetrical Arena map designed around a neutral Banshee, and is best suited to Capture the Flag matches. The map is a horseshoe shape with a multi-leveled spire hanging over the central death pit. Surrounding this spire is a series of open ledges and platforms connecting to a linear sequences of rooms that reach from one side of the map to the other. These linear rooms make up the outer perimeter of the map. The central room houses the Banshee, as well as a teleporter to the top platform of the spire. The bottom of the spire has man cannons aimed toward either team’s bridges, as well as jumping spots leading to lower sneaky routes connected to the large outer platforms next to each base.
All of the sightlines, routes, and sandbox items on Conduit are in service of balancing the Banshee while it is in play and providing an engaging and unique experience all around. The map relies heavily on coordinated teamplay and understanding the contextual advantages of each position and pickup. Sandbox items are placed in areas that encourage players to take on specific roles when using them, in both offense and defense. The Grappleshot and various skill jumps will reward players for creative movement if timed correctly, but punish them for selfish or poorly timed plays.
