Better Xcloud - Improved Xcloud alternative app

Thought I’d post on this after having used this app on my Phone for abit and I find it much better then the Xcloud site or any official apps

The key parts is it allows much better control over Image quality and streaming quality

You can use WebGL2 + AMD FidelityFX CAS and greatly improve image quality, it gives you separate controls over saturation/sharpness and just gives you tons more options for a better experience

Which renderer to use?

If your device supports it, using WebGL2 + AMD FidelityFX CAS will provide the best visual quality + better battery life (up to 30%).

It also has the Remote play option built in so you can also stream directly from your console

Thanks, will look it over once I have the time.

Thank you. I’ll look into this more, but I do hope we hear something from Xbox soon on how they’re going to make their streaming service best in class.

I was trying to play Spryo last night on my phone after getting the Kishi Ultra (great controller, feels much better than the first version!) and the game had a hitch every 15-20 seconds or so. It took me right out of it.

Then I tried Hot Wheels Turbocharged and it ran okay, but the lower visual fidelity made it hard to make out smaller obstacles (cones, barriers, corners in dark spots, etc.) on a small screen. When I switched to remote play from my Series X and ran the same track it seemed as though the visual clarity was a bit better. At least, I could make out more of the obstacles and I ran a cleaner lap.

Yeah, my biggest issue is the vast inconsistencies; I’ll have a Starfield session on my iPad that runs damn near S level image quality with a bit more lag, to the most lag-filled, potato quality experience. Remote play for me is pretty close to the real deal, but our new network setup is pretty robust.

It really helps the image quality when using FSR and locking to 1080p with unlimited bit rate.

Just gave it a shot with a match of Halo Infinite and it’s not bad! Image is a tad too smooth for my liking and I had 2 hiccups during my match but I don’t know if it’s due to the add-on or xCloud itself (I’m on 5Ghz Wifi). Overall though I’d say it’s probably better than the standard sharpening filter, although I’d like to get some side by sides to really get a better idea.

I’ll have to tinker with this more on my G Cloud, I use XBXPlay and its pretty good like smooth but the image is soft. This xcloud app constantly microstutters but the readouts all say 60fps with zero dropped frames so idk what is different here.

I kinda just wish I could have Fidelity FX CAS on XBXPlay since its nearly flawless for me.

Here are my video settings on the app. Gives a nice sharp image with good color pop

This is neat. If only someone cool wrote up some sort of “piece” on this and we could post it as an article. That would be even neater. Spreading the word!

I’m using this app on a Samsung Zfold 6 with this controller and it works great.
