Bethesda/Machine games are doing an Indiana Jones Game (Confirmed)

I considered a temp ban for this.

Feels more like a call and a raise with pocket aces - keep your knock off, we’ll just take the original.

Will be interesting to see what this actually looks like down the line; it can’t play like Wolfenstein or be too similar to modern Tomb Raider or Uncharted. I would hope the focus on killing is reduced, at least from a pure gunplay perspective, and its more reliant on fun escapes, puzzles, and exploration.

I would enjoy the game more if I knew PS and Switch users can’t play it.

Just joking. I actually would preferer a game like Fate of Atlantis then an action game.

Uhm Indy does shoot a lot and a lot nazis too

You should probly include a “/s” in there…

Alas, he’s not being sarcastic.

+1 vote for rethinking your temp ban :joy:

I watched all of them this summer and I never got the impression he was gunning down Nazi after Nazi, not that he’d be opposed if the situation arose. He definitely kills, but I feel like they mostly come in a manner different than you’d see in a typical FPS or TPS. I just don’t want it to feel too familiar to what is out there and what it will be directly compared to - it’s much more than just shooting enemies.

I agree 100% with Javier’s posts.

If every Xbox exclusive was on PlayStation, honestly, I would have just stayed with PlayStation. If every PlayStation game was on Xbox, I wouldn’t need to buy a PlayStation.

Competition is great and the main driving force in competition is exclusives. Sony has been dominant for 25 years. Why do people think that is? It’s because Sony gives you games you can’t play anywhere else. Nintendo (when amazing or shitty) have survived since 1986 and been dominant in their own way. Again, why do people think that is? Again, it’s because Nintendo gives you games that you can’t play anywhere else.

I’m 42 and old school. You have a gaming platform and it includes a console, you better have compelling excellent exclusives. Otherwise, why am I wasting my time and money? SMH.

People really need to stop thinking that they’re living in a utopia because you’re not. Sony/Nintendo doesn’t give a flying fuck about Xbox, the eco-system or their fans. Why the fuck should Microsoft be nice, kind and friendly?

I like Phil Spencer but he needs to start being aggressive and quite simply an asshole towards the competition because that’s exactly how the competition is towards Xbox. Microsoft/Spencer need to put their hardcore fanbase and Xbox fans in general first. The priority should be these two groups. Best way to please them is by giving them amazing exclusive games that you can’t play anywhere else.

Remember Xbox still doesn’t own them, they can’t tell them what to do until they do. If Bethesda holds off the announcement when they had already planned it for this time they might get busted for letting MS influence their business moves.

Yeah, true. Jez made a good point. If the PlayStation official account retweets the announcement this week, it’s multi-platform. If they don’t, it’s exclusive.

gonna go out on a limb and say this is one of the unannounced games Phil kept saying when he says he can’t wait for them to show Starfield and some unannounced games.

also LOL it’s already started

edit: even worse

Might as well be a third party developer if you plan on giving games to the competition. Its nice that you celebrate your competition achievements here and there with tweets and stuff but you gotta play hardball because Sony wants your marketshare and you also dont need the eventual apple, tencent google or amazon interfering.

Imagine thinking Nintendo would share a Mario game or Sony puts spider-man and god of war elsewhere. They only will put The Show elsewhere because MLB forced them LOL.

I think the only reason it wouldn’t be exclusive is if the contract that was signed requires a multi platform release. This does happen, look at how Sony needs to releaae MLB The Show on Xbox.

That said, none of us know the details of the contract so there is no point in arguing about it.

Only reason the show is coming to xbox is because it makes no sense for MLB (sport with minor growth) to be locked to Playstation. Literally the only sports game that does that and Sony chose to keep the IP and make the game for other platforms than lets say EA take it.

I’m not an Indiana Jones fan so this doesn’t pump me up too much but I’m interested in seeing this. I wonder how far along it is?

I feel like along with Perfect Dark, Fable, 007 and this, it’s all about announcing it to help with hiring people to join the task. They won’t have to worry about people leaking it now so they can freely hire people and some people might think wow that would be a cool game to work on. With all that said and with what all these games have in common is they are likely many years out. I would say most are 2-5 years out most likely.
