There is a scoreboard, but they ran out of buttons to give you access to it by default on console. You can bind it yourself in the settings.
It doesnāt run like garbage when the servers are in decent shape. Yesterday they were not, but Thursday/Friday/Today the game has been silky smooth for me performance wise. I donāt think itās fair to call that ādelusionā
Oh nice, Iāll give that a try tmr !
Iāve played every Battlefield game. This isnāt one of the better ones. I donāt think that is controversial or in a years time will even be something that is worth a debate.
Itās not a great game Iām afraid. Some people will always like the new BF game. But for me this is the worst since BF1. Itās right now better than BF1 to me as itās not just grenade spam and behemoth nonsense and conquest at least is how conquest should be. But apart from thatā¦.
Attacking the Stadium on that desert map is just awesome. Going inside with 30-40 people is just crazy ! I love it.
Every corner of every map is so unique. Every combat engagement is different. I feel like itās choregraphed somehow, but no, itās real players trying to take a point.
I think these maps are well thought out, as distance between points is exactly what draws people on these shock points of pure chaos. With 128 players youāre forced to teamplay and thatās a good thing other BF games always struggled with.
Iāve played a lot of 2042 this weekend and now that Iām out of the euphoric honeymoon faze, I can give my brutally honā¦kidding, I hate that lineā¦my impressions are thus
You guys saying this game needs work, there are normal features missing, it could have used more time, etc. You guys are right. Iām not surprised about this. Battlefield games never come out in the best state and always need work. Fortunately they get them, but I canāt deny, or overlook the issues it has
I get stutters, been dropped from matches, sometimes certain teammates have no name overhead, or I see desynced enemies dead, but standing, or running while I empty 2 full mags in to them to no result. Thereās some real cleaning up required and quickly. And feature wise, we canāt change squads? What? THAT canāt stay that way, DICE. No way. People need to be able to join friends mid match and get on a squad together. And some of the later unlocks for vehicles are essential for making them viable early on, so getting there is a choire
The positives though are plentiful, for me. An admited BF nutbag
This game is just chaotic fun. It truly plays like a proper hybrid of BF4 and BFV, with massive maps and player counts. And while this week is nothing but hardcore BF fans, and the need for full servers necessitates leaving crossplay on makes for a tougher time than normal, thereās plenty of fun to be had here. And things will get much easier next week after full release. (Youāll be owning some of these noobs after the crucible youāve been through this week Javy)
I also love the weapon, attachment and equipment unlocks and the longer proggression of that coming back. And the specialists, being seperate from the loadouts makes it so much more customizable. I think with time, this will be an excellent game. For now Iām just very glad to have a new multiplayer addiction and something to go along with Halo Infinite thatās such a different experience
The counter point on maps is they feel like Op Metro (I HATE OP METRO) interspersed with nothingness - then Op Metro again. Iāve struggled to really find a lot of variety every map is either zerg or emptiness (and a random enemy is prone on their own ready to shoot you).
I went to play Caspian Border and it just confirmed to me how much better that map flows and feels than the 2042 maps - which are fantastically large and detailed theatres of war - they just for me donāt (generally) seem like they flow right. The desert map to me seems to have one of the better flows that feels more like a traditional conquest though. I have enjoyed matches there (is it hourglass?).
yeah, you are right there. There are some really good spots on all the maps, I just think the distance between points of action could benefit from being 20-30% smaller.
There definitely is a noticeable difference between the new and old maps but I suppose they could hand pick the ones from earlier releases. You canāt go wrong with bringing back arica, caspian, canals etc.
Look I know people go crazy for Operation Metro but Ima be honest all I want is grand bazaar from BF3. I can only imagine the chaos in the tunnel with 128 people laying down on bipods.
BRING THEM ALL BACK!!!
No doubt they will eventually , bazaar would be great .
Damavand Peak with 64 lunatics jumping down the cliff. PLEASE.

Winning on Orbital in Outbreak is impossible by the second round where you have to take over the building. Like who thought that was a good point to defend? Jesus

No-Pats,
Ahead of the start of our worldwide launch for Battlefield 2042, we have a small update targeted at addressing some critical issues that we identified shortly before the start of Early Access.
In the coming weeks, weāll have more to share around further upcoming fixes, balance changes, and QoL enhancements. Over the next 30 days, weāre presently scheduled to release two further updates, with our next update delivering more fixes and improvements that weāve identified during this first week of Early Access, and a larger and more substantial update following after that.
Our full update notes are available below. Thereāll be a short period of downtime whilst we deploy the update. Weāll keep you updated on our deployment timing over on the @BattlefieldComm Twitter account, where you can also follow along with our tracking of known issues, and changes that weāre able to make in real time

Update 0.2.1
Fixes, Changes, and Improvements
- Implemented Server Side upgrades that are targeted at reducing instances of Rubber Banding, often experienced in the later part of a round in All-Out Warfare modes.
- Significantly reduced instances of stuttering when playing on Breakaway. If the Siloās are destroyed, it should no longer reduce performance on the server.
- A note that we are continuing to investigate similar occurrences that have been reported to us on other maps.
- When looking at allies on your team, their names will now correctly display.
- Adjusted the animations for Falck during the End of Round sequence to ensure that she is displayed correctly.
- Updated a skin earnable for Boris via Mastery Progression with a new name: Gator.
- Ensured that TDM Rounds in Battlefield Portal always start with Random Deploy set as active. We observed that this sometimes wasnāt active when moving from round to round, but have now fixed this.
- Applied a set of measures that ensure the correct number of AI spawn in Custom Battlefield Portal modes using the Free for All preset.
- PC Only - Enabled Specialist Selection in Hazard Zone via mouse interaction, removing the need to lock in your selection with the Spacebar.
- Fixed a rare occurrence in Hazard Zone that would sometimes cause the End of Round flow to not activate correctly, ensuring that the correct amount of bonus XP was awarded.
- Repaired an issue found in Hazard Zone that could cause players to be shown on the Map when they were not visible, or spotted.
- Provided a fix for Hazard Zone players who were not seeing their Extraction Streaks updating correctly.
yet⦠they did!
ā¦thanks to Halo
we were talking about Haloās servers. BF2042ās were on fire at both the early-access and regular edition launches
Yeahā¦I knew that
Seems like the game is gonna take 3-6 months according to Tom Henderson in order for it to be ālaunch stateā. I can overlook some of this stuff cause the game is fun but jesus what is it with Dice lately?
