Assassin's Creed Shadows' reveal trailer is here

Trailer looked great(obviously) I’m exited to see more at Ubisofts event.

Now the main issue I have is deciding if I will buy the game(or just go with a sub) and who to do the first playthrough as(I hope we can switch between them like Evie and Jacob).

I’m trying to decide which edition to preorder. I’m thinking just the standard this time around because Valhalla ended up having a lot of DLC I wasn’t interested in.

This game isn’t cross-gen right?

Game looks great.

Not a fan of the dual protagonist setup though. I did not like it in Syndicate and all it does is making me have less connection to the characters.

Re: AC Valhalla, the final DLC which wasn’t apart of the Season pass was actually the most relevant to the story and best overall by a wide margin IMO.

A wait and see approach is very fair if you don’t care about the early access.

In my case I’m just fundamentally more interested in the “real world history” (such as it is) aspect. So the France and Ireland DLCs were up my alley, an entire expansion set in the myth realm was not, and I was glad it wasn’t something I’d already paid for!

Tom Henderson and also IGN quite praise the lighting and everything but in the screenshots so far…i don’t know, it doesn’t seem all that amazing. This is while I thought ACV’s screenshots looked great. But perhaps these shots are legit now, lol.

We need actual footage before we can judge of course.

That being said, i am a bit hyped actually about the seasons. That is something AC hasn’t had before and could be game changing.

Yep I don’t really like the mythology parts - I don’t mind too much in AC Odyssey with the minotaur (given the context) or Valhalla with visions, but the whole bits in other realms or long conversations with the gods got a bit stale

I mean the game had an option to remove them even back with odyssey

Oh wow, really? Yeah I’m not in the know about these things. I bought both Origins (to have something great for One X launch) and barely played it and Oddysey same story.

Yeah with odyssey you could make it so the map only showed general areas for stuff, and had hints

Yeah I don’t know who this guy in the tweet is but he’s not played AC Odyssey.

I also play with less icons for immersion, but it’s better to have options to toggle than just removing them imho.

Most Ubisoft games have had a “no markers” mode for a while now. People like pushing old narratives.

I just write them off as imbeciles or fakes.

Looks good, Day 1 for sure.

It really is sounding all so great!

This too, I like the sound of that.

Nearly every prop in the game can be broken and dynamically react to your actions.

Damn…no viewpoints anymore which sucks as I loved doing them and then swan diving off them. No map markers is also shitty because I prefer them. wish they kept it the same and just allowed the HUD/world map to be customizable. That way everyone plays the way they want to. Also, no more Eagle for scouting enemies which tells me that the game will probably have that horrible “vision” shit that every game has over used since Batman Arkham Asylum. Most of all, Naoe has a grappling hook which tells me, yay, I get to go backwards and look for grapple points as opposed to free climbing. UGH.

With that said, trailer looked awesome but Ubisoft’s trailers usually do so no surprise there. Need to see a long gameplay segment and exactly how the game plays before making any final judgments/decisions.

I am really happy that it’s a Quebec game - they’ve made my favourite recent ACs (Syndicate and Odyssey) plus the great Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

All 3 of those, I completed and did all the collectibles and everything else - I just loved being in their worlds.

Origins and Valhalla were decent enough, but for me Quebec generally has better flowing combat, the gameplay is more fun and fluid, they’ve got decent humour and they often have some really interesting side quests…
