Another blast from the past
Rob Hubbard on the C64 also has an impressive list of credits. One game even had to be censored here in Germany because the music went too hard.
Commando has a kick ass title track but the highscore music is also something else. Imagine you lost your last life and this kicks in. Its the game hugging you and telling you its all not so bad.
FF XIII has one of my top three FF scores; I also liked the game a lot more than most, but that music is absolutely a big reason as to why. There’s a lot of PSO progressions in there, so it’s this beautiful blend of FF tradition and branch out to modernity - and a great stamp for Hamauzu-san being only the second FF score without Uematsu-san (if I recall correctly).
