I decided I’m going to tackle some of my remaining Lego game backlog this year and Batman was first up.
I really like the look of this game. With the simple shapes and textures and strong colored lights it just looks sharp. Great example of a timeless BC game that will always be fun.
I am heading home today after my holiday break, so I think it’s a good time to think about my gaming habits for the upcoming year. Although I won the friendly completion percentage competition by about 50 achievements, I really was not enjoying it after about the halfway point. So I don’t plan to continue that mentality. This will inevitably lower my average weekly GS, but at least I will be having fun playing those games. I do still plan to play a lot of games, particularly on Game Pass, so it still won’t be easy to keep up with me. Good luck to all competitors!

During the pandemic I got into a groove where I was knocking out Lego game completions one after another. Then I stalled out at some point and left several games partially done. For 2025 I want to get that progress restarted-- so far so good with Batman. My other goals are to knock out some Star Wars games (some overlap with Lego there, as well as the Jedi Fallen Order series) and Final Fantasy titles.
Season 9 is upon us and what better way to kick things off than to vote for our first Gamepass game of the month!
None of these games are new, so it’s possible that some of you have already played these. Rolling Hills was another option, but I know several people, including myself, who have completed it already. I’ll leave this poll up for roughly 48 hours so be sure to vote!
So how would this work if we’ve already played them? I’ve already gotten the full 1000GS in two of these (including the current leader). Do I automatically get 50 points? Do I get 0 points because I didn’t gain any during the contest? Do I get half-points because I got the full 1000GS, but didn’t do it during the contest? Inquiring minds want to know (it’s me, I’m the inquiring mind).
I’ve been there. Gaming is supposed to be fun, so while I’ll occasionally push myself to finish a game I think is only okay (especially if it’s a short completion) I rarely let myself push through a game I’m not enjoying just to get a few more achievement points. Inevitably I’ll get back into the achievement hunting mood later, which is fine, but I try to make sure that the fun comes first, whether that fun be from the collecting of achievements or the game itself.
In that case you would get the full 50 points. Hopefully everyone chooses a game that they haven’t completed… 
Also, if Xbox ends up doing a dev direct and we get something new for Gamepass, we could always run another poll.
I’ve been on a Star Wars kick lately so it felt like the right time to pick Fallen Order back up and complete it. I loved the story and characters but didn’t love certain design choices and gameplay elements. And boy does it look and perform better on the Series X than it did on Xbox One. Night and day.
Overall a great experience, with some sour notes. I’m excited to see how Survivor evolves the formula!

This is one of my favorite things about Xbox. I like to go to TA, pick an old game like Oblivion and look at the list of gamers who have completed it. A game from 2006, and dozens of gamers have completed it so far in January 2025! That always makes me smile. Not only are good games evergreen, but with spectacular BC support they only get better over time.
I absolutely loved these movies when they first came out, and this game felt like you were playing through one of the old movies, which is awesome. Good story, mediocre voice acting (much like the movies!), and great gameplay made this one a blast to go through.
