Every Gamerscore earned from now until next Monday 06:20 AM (UTC) will count towards week #122âs ranking. Every Gamerscore earned until February 1, 2022 06:20 AM (UTC) will also count towards Januaryâs ranking.
Donât forget that this topic is first and foremost destined to talk about all your achievements and trophies, discuss completions and even try to gather people for a boosting session! The ranking is just a side activity to take part in. Good luck everyone and happy hunting!
Have I mentioned how much I dislike Halo games? This one finally had decent controls, which was a nice bonus, but not giving me the achievements for completing three of the levels despite being the host and my co-op buddy getting all of them definitely makes me hate it more.
Bloody hell⌠Was going to do Pupperazzi before it leaves Game Pass. Took about 10 seconds to give me motion sickness galore. Luckily didnât unlock any achievement so I quit and uninstalled that shit fast.
Yeah, I might have been able to power through it like that but I felt it was not worth the increased time and effort. I hate these bad first person games, gaah.
I had a bug where instead of keeping 5 checkpoint saves or whatever itâs supposed to, it was keeping every checkpoint save permanently. Eventually it was too much data to sync online, and then too much data to save or load correctly on the local console. I had to resync from my last successful online save and lost a few hours of progress. Very disheartening and I want to wait for a bugfix to even resume playing.
Quick Resumed sometimes, not every time. I found some other people on Reddit reporting the same issue, it apparently has to do with playing on a save that was originally created in the last-gen version of the game. It doesnât happen if you start from scratch in the new-gen version.
Saw this article being discussedâŚsomewhere and was wondering what some people here thought about it. For me Iâve always thought of achievements/trophies as sort of a journal for my gaming. I wouldnât go as far to say that theyâve been bad for gaming, but I would say that the types of achievements theyâre (Fredrik) complaining about are, in my opinion, bad implementations of achievements.
Itâs always annoyed me that Nintendo has been so averse to them. I think a âjournalâ might be more palatable to them. I would also like to see achievements be repeatable so you can see each time youâve achieved it (worth 0 points for each subsequent instance). Maybe also allow achievements to contain some simple metadata (ie. achievement: Completed World 1-1; time: 65s). As someone who will likely be gaming until I am no longer able to, with a poor memory and likely some form of dementia in my future this would be really helpful for me.
I have not read the article, but what you say is what I am thinking. The concept is solid. Just because they failed at implementing their achievements sheds no light on achievement implementations from other developers.
Itâs just a tweet, so Iâm making some assumptions based on their conclusions, but I think itâs complaining about inserting unnecessary checklists into the game for the sake of creating an achievement list that will prolong engagement in the game. Which Iâm saying is on the developers/designers for making a poor decision when designing their achievements. Design your game and then add achievements based on that, not the other way around.
I strongly disagree, obviously. Achievements are a big part of what makes playing games fun for me. Iâll leave it at that. Frankly (this isnât a dig at you, but at the discussion thatâs surrounded this topic for years now), Iâm sick and tired of even engaging with people who are vocal about not liking achievements and wanting them to go away. Iâm over it. Theyâre here to stay, ignore them if you donât like them, and let the people who do like them have their fun.
I think this guy is very wrong though. Lots of games are made better thanks to their achievements. It gives a longer life to games, replayability and it makes you experience a lot more of the game than if you just run through the mainstory and donât try out different builds etc.
