I know it has nothing to do with Xbox achievements, but I wanted to follow up on the Retro achievements I mentioned in a previous post. Essentially, they’re awesome. It just works and it feels so good getting achievements in some classic games. They have support for pretty much every system from the PS2 and prior, including some really old stuff like the Apple II. Not every game is supported obviously, but achievement lists for other games are being added every day. There are also over 250,000 registered users and it seems like a very active community.
Anyway, just had to nerd out about it since it’s something I’ve been wanting for a long time.
If you are only interested in the story, I would watch a YouTube video. Game is mostly a story recap with around 1h of new story content.
150 tracks and still missing some amazing music from Kingdom Hearts. They added some original Disney tracks like Frozen - Let It Go or Lion King - Circle of Life.
Achievement list is grindy but easy. Probably the easiest list of all Kingdom Hearts Games.
Took me a while to get into it, but once I did I really liked this one. Interesting story with some twists I didn’t see coming (and others I absolutely did), entertaining characters, fun combat. It was easier to recommend when it was on Game Pass, but if you like turn-based RPGs I’d still say give this one a shot (but if you care about the 100% make sure to follow a walkthrough or you might screw yourself).
(The “2 days played” is extremely incorrect. It’s only about a 10 hour completion)
I finished Corpse Party and, wow, what a game. First time playing it, I know this was a cult classic for a long time. It’s a very creepy and geuninely disturbing experience, and I like how the game did not rely on doing a single jumpscare, instead relying on just tensing you up and letting the atmosphere do the “scary” part. Probably every content warning you can think of is here, very cruel and sickening imagery and themes are here, and some of those CGs… Yeah, don’t play this if you’re queasy!
The gameplay is basically like a classic survival horror game, exploring the haunted school, finding objects to solve puzzles. Though there is no map in game, I felt the school was laid out well enough that I remembered the layout by memory well enough and never got too lost.
The big negative is that there’s a lot of “cheap” deaths or “wrong ending” paths just because you walked into a room at the wrong time or cryptic stuff like that. Luckily, every chapter is only 2 or 3 hours long (and much shorter if you fast forward the cutscenes), and you can just start at the beginning of a chapter again (or reload a save), as each chapter is self-contained (actions in previous chapters don’t affect the next chapter, there’s only one actual ending to each chapter) but I doubt anyone’s getting the true ending without a guide (which, thankfully, only requires replaying the last chapter, not the whole game)
I know this series has more entries that aren’t on Xbox yet, so I hope they’re on the way. There’s also a “bonus chapter” in this version that teases some sort of unreleased game in the series, hopefully that’s something to look forward to on Xbox and it doesn’t fall victim to the sadly classic “Japanese game comes to Xbox, but then the sequel doesn’t come to Xbox”

I’m actually still playing through this for a while yet, but the only achievements left are ones that are impossible to legitimately get right now, so it felt appropriate to post this here.
That was a very uniquebatshit insane Swery experience of sheep riding, swearing and pissing on trees. But the remaining achievements are probably another 50 hours of mindnumbing grind in Rainy Woods this goddamn hellhole and I have no time for that.
My understanding is due to Sony patenting how they add trophies to old games. It made it nearly impossible for Xbox to do it without either a lawsuit or if sony was willing a licensing deal

I didn’t love this game, but I did enjoy my relatively short time with it. Easily one of the most atmospheric games I’ve ever played, if not the most, with puzzles ranging from “this is so easy I don’t know if it can even be considered a puzzle” to “this is so hard I don’t know if it can even be considered a puzzle”. 100% not for everyone, and I think they need a better person directing their trailers (most people I know expected this to be more like Doom than Myst), but still a game I’m glad I was able to go through.
I agree totally, the first puzzle was so obscure and unclear that I wasn’t even sure it was a puzzle and I was just interacting with things for the sake of it. I’ll complete it because its a quick completion, but i’m not going to recommend it to anyone
I haven’t run into any terrible issues. So at Least GTA 3 is way better than it was. Only issue i saw was some cars would clip through a side of the bridge or some how be on the ceiling of a tunnel, thats just funny.
I don’t know what took me so long to play this game, but I finally did and I absolutely loved it. Clementine is one of my favorite video game characters and after watching her grow up through the other games I’m glad Skybound was able to show us the end to her story after Telltale went under. Absolutely a 5/5 game for me.
