A Reminder to the Community

Routing is just an initial action. Essentially we are sweeping things under one of the carpets (threads) too. The threads themselves continue this behaviour after that.

Everyone in a forum thinks that they are usually on best behaviour. Self reflection is absent during a passionate conversation or an even more passionate doom posting.

If general forum behaviour is anything to go by, you will come acroas these decision points more often than not. There are small nudges that are required consistently in a large community. These nudges need to be followed up by other small nudges too. So, while putting a huge green banner was good, no action was specified if ppl ignored it. Which is the secoondary nudge that is required to put ppl in some order.

My two cents.

Good stuff. Thanks.

Thank you for this. Some of the changes made today are to try to encourage better behaviour. I foresee a time that giant megathreads can eventually fall to the wayside, but it won’t be any time soon.
