In all honesty, Microsoft staying “third” in the console space is actually better for us Xbox gamers and consumers because they’ll do more for us as opposed to if they were “first” or “second”. I just want them to compete (which they are) and go a little harder with the consoles to give the impression that they want to be “first” in consoles. Mainly because this is what I care about. It’s the console because it’s where I play and while never say never, as of now, I have zero interest in going to PC.
Xbox Series sales will only stay selling if they stay at that cheap price which I doubt. I think they go right back to $500 and $300/$350 respectively after New Year’s. But we’ll see.
I say MS is in 2nd place I really don’t look to class the Switch as a console no more than I did the Nomad from SEGA
For me, MS should just have an objective sales target of 60 to 80 million consoles. Anything close to those figures will be a hugely successful and profitable console.
I like XBox to double down on the promotion of the console and also look at the price and how much they lose Vs how much is brought in from software royalties when they cut the price of the console.
Already know a few people who just got a Series X for Christmas because of the price cut and a little look on Amazon shows Series X selling very well thanks to a price cut
