I just read it right before you posted this. Sounds like the next chapter of Halo is near. Plus, it’s not like Infinite is shutting down or going to Beta. It will still be around; just getting ready to turn the page.
Yep, less focus on MP’er balancing and content as they go all in on the next Halo game’s dev.
Halo Remake and whatever Certain Affinity are working on next year.
I’m operating on no sleep so I could be completely out to lunch here, but does this mean that a new Halo game with multiplayer in 2026?
That just seems too soon. I would have expected 2026 to be the final year for Infinite.
Though this is fantastic news. I’m still really happy with infinite and with new modes and the highlighting of UGC I can still see it having another couple years of life in it. Forge really gave this game legs.
Maybe they found that they can really accomplish a lot in UE. I remember when it took a good 2 years before infinite started looking like a legit MP game and I’m sure Halo studios don’t want a repeat of that. So this is good news in many respects.
No, it means at least a year with no comp halo. 2027 is the earliest to expect anything, but that’s no guarentee
On the chat for the Xboxera podcast, I thought that Halo Studios should release a f2p mp game before releasing a new campaign.
As most of their player base only cares about the multiplayer. The campaigns aka Halo 7 and remakes can be added as dlc for people to buy. It would work like Infinite works right now for me, where the campaign is treated as a dlc that needs the multiplayer to be downloaded.
This way we get mp and forge early and the campaigns just add new stuff to both.
