+0 Avowed - loved it, as I have every Obsidian game. Really sad to see it end, but really enjoyed getting to tell a few people where to go and to see others happy
Combat was fluid and excellent, side quests often presented harder choices and far-reaching consequences than expected, main quests kept interesting (for example I impacted the story in the second area without even realising, simply by getting annoyed at some assholes and wiping them out) and the characters (particularly your team) believable and intriguing.
Enjoyed the story and many of the parallels with our world (and its history) - overall a beautiful, enjoyable game that if they release DLC for I’ll be jumping right back in to given I completed all map markers (just couldn’t be bothered with the totems or treasure maps - did the cartographer and bounty ones though).
Can’t recommend it enough!
-1 AC Shadows - been getting started on this as it’s from my favourite Ubi developer (the ones behind Syndicate, Odyssey and Immortals: Fenyx Rising), enjoying it decently enough so far.
-0 Blue Prince - have done a few runs on this, been enjoying it so far although it can be frustrating (I really hate the concept of roguelikes so much!) I’m hoping I’ve taken enough notes and understood enough that I can crack some bigger puzzles soon and feel like I’m making progress…
-0 South of Midnight - going to play this alongside the two above, for a more straightforward chill out game
-0 Atomfall - might not get to this one till later this month but want to give it a bit of a try to see if I like it given it might leave GP at some point…
Also need to finish off Rise of the Golden Idol as I bought it on PC before Christmas so it’d get me back up to 1, also turns out I couldn’t finish the final level of Viewfinder so if I could complete that it’d get me up to a high score (for me) of 2!
Looking at the incoming games on Game Pass and what’s in my wishlist I’m really thinking I’m going to end this year in very low figures or a negative though - the new Life is Strange and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage both are calling to me even though I’ve no time to play them!
