I hope that if the new hardware Nick heard about ends up being some sort of VR , starfield will get a VR edition for Xbox at some point
I think Microsoft has enough studios that they need to start supporting VR, especially if they gonna keep acquiring.

Do they really though? Not to many people use VR byut a lot of people play mobile. This is why I think they should make a handheld. streaming is fine but they need a dedicated handheld hardware device. With where VR is I would still wait a few years. Probably wait till next gen in imo

If youâre going to buy up the industry you gotta put resources into growing it. Canât wait around for other people to do it if you keep picking up publishers that were supporting VR.

I donât think itâs likely. Mixed Reality is proving a real headache for Microsoft, adding VR to Xbox would be layering a complication to Xbox that isnât needed. VR isnât crucial to Xbox success.

I didnât hear the podcast discussion on the rumored Xbox hardware of some type possibly coming later this year or maybe next due to supply chain issues for example. But I think that most Xbox followers âexpectâ some type of dedicated streaming device/stick, so if there was any wording about it maybe being something a little different than expected then maybe we are looking at some type of Xbox handheld device.
Microsoft has no need to make their own hardware for VR. They would simply support the same VR Eccosystem as they do on Windows, and let the OEMs make the headsets.
They gotta let their studios make VR software though
Sure, for Windows. For those who were in process of doing VR already.
I do not think they will go into VR within the next 3 years. Not until wireless headsets are capable enough. At that time, and only then would they get into VR. Also gives them time to get their game release cadence going, before fracturing it into yet another direction.
As a big techie that buys way too many âtoysâ I just donât care for gaming in VR. I have owned and tried various even high-end devices, and I just hate feeling even more âclosed offâ from the real world when playing that way along with still having some slight motion sickness feelings. I assume that this market will continue to grow some at least, but I just donât know that there is some huge group of people that truly want to game that way on a regular basis.

Just wanted to make sure you knew there wasnât any malice behind me asking that. When you mentioned how it was tough because you knew him from the podcast and discord, I thought âoh fuck, thatâs right.â Hell, I even watched that last one when he was on and completely blanked on it

But the thing is, since doing the show Iâve seen some more stuff thatâs even worse than what I had initially seen that really isnât great. Which will make anything I said on the show look like Iâm probably trying to make it out to be less than it is, mostly because I hadnât been aware of it at the time we were doing the show. Like Thomas allegedly questioning a potential female employee about whether she was planning on having kids so he wouldnât have to worry about her leaving after getting pregnant. Which simply isnât good enough.
