Tom Warren be like:
The audio output options on PS5 are pretty poor if you dont have a Pulse Headset.
Thanks, I think Iâll just do a bunch of choices for different ranges instead of an over/under for those.
I am eagerly anticipating the same said people to jump on Sony and SE when that FF game is announced .
What he said is the truth though. The PC is a non-factor here because monitors are far behind the curve in terms of HDR support, especially for Dolby Vision. Comparing HDR technology that requires very specific pipeline support, along with additional hardware to properly calibrate and test is nothing like adding support for haptic feedback.
Very interesting development. So what do we do now with all this accumulated outrage about this apparently non-existent situation?
Onto the next ânontraversyâ that being âXBOX DIDNâT SHOW THE CAMPAIGN AT E3. ARE THEY HIDING SOMETHING?!â
There is also the fake outrage from the âMicrosoft changing Bethesdaâs culture 3 months inâ that we have to take into consideration
âi heard the campaign was cancelledâ
He wasnât so negative about any Sony deal, I mean, nor as fast in reporting his annoyance. There is no conspiracy imo, but there is some inherent bias widespread in the media.
Eh this whole widespread bias excuse. Yeah, Tom sure is biased towards Sony alright. Are there some people biased towards Sony? Yeah definitely, same as there are people biased towards Xbox and Nintendo. Should we lean on this conspiracy theory every time a journalist says something we donât agree with? I donât think so. Are there more people that prefer Playstation to Xbox? Thatâs totally believable as they did a much better job last gen. That doesnât stop those same people from publicly expressing how they are switching their main consoles this gen like weâve seen from a number of outlets. The whole âjournalist industry is biased against Xboxâ narrative is just a way to dodge the fact that Playstation did a lot more to excite these people last gen than Xbox. If this widespread bias did exist, we wouldnât have seen all the positive coverage weâve seen this year. It only took Xbox to actually start doing things to get people excited beyond acquisitions that fizzle out once the news is reported. Labeling everything as journalistic bias against Xbox remove any of the necessary nuance and details that should go into a discussion of bias.
Thereâs a difference between accepting game deals are made in the industry and voicing the truth that any deal like this would hinder technology adoption. You guys are conflating two different things that arenât in any way related.
Dolby and MS collaborate on audio/video since the dawn of time, if Sony doesnât want to pay royalties is their problem. Atmos is on Xbox since 2017, why an esteemed professional doesnât check the facts before ranting on Twitter? Bad show for Tom Warren here, a supposed tech journo.
This one was just embarrassingâŚ
I canât wait for the day people just have so much fun with Xbox, they forget about creating FUDs.
He reported on something that was posted directly from Xbox. What is there to check when the source is the company itself? Thatâs like expecting a journalist to look around and confirm a release date after a company announce it themselves.
This conversation right here is a perfect example to how some Xbox gamers are more eager to blame the journalist for reporting on whatâs there instead of blaming Xbox for making the mistake in the first place. He did nothing wrong, nor was his rant not cemented in truth either. But yeah, letâs continue blaming him for the a mistake on Xboxâs side. Makes sense.
Man, Iâve started to think about when Iâll be able to afford a PS5, and in turn, when Iâll be able to get one, and Iâm looking at how bad the situation with stock is and Iâm 1) very glad I managed to get a Series X, 2) Really donât want to deal with this shit.
What a giant pain in my ass. Earliest Iâm probably gonna be able to get one is September, and lord knows itâs not looking like itâs gonna get better by then from here.
Im pretty sure xbox and dolby have worked together to help developers add DV HDR to their games. I just think Tom saying âwho is gonna bother because its on xbox onlyâ is just downplaying the brand again and making it lesser but thats his opinion.
Are developers not gonna bother with 3D audio since it its only Xbox offers Atmos/DTS-X via speakers? I can make the same argument for HDR with 3D audio too even if it seems flawed.
Iâm so happy I donât have this jaded, perversed view of the industry some of you seem to have. Everything doesnât have to be done with an agenda behind it.
Also comparing audio to HDR again does not apply. Thereâs a reason why he only mentioned Dolby Vision.
Amen. Thereâs a big persecution complex I see sometimes in posts here, and itâs super disheartening.
I think that some people (not just here) get sucked into the trolling and console war rhetoric they see on social media and forums and then just paint with a broad brush whenever they see anything that goes against their âteamâ.
Thereâs a big difference between expressing frustration that your preferred system isnât getting its due and making a blanket assumption that anything negative is because âthe journalists are biasedâ. Frankly, a lot of this is exacerbated by Twitter being such a nightmare. Any comment you make flippantly from the toilet is held to a super high standard of scrutiny and you can get excoriated over it without even realizing or getting a chance to defend yourself. People make mistakes, like the person at Xbox France who published an erroneous story.
And looking at Warrenâs tweet, I donât even see anything that bad? Heâs speaking about a principle he holds based on his values and his knowledge of his field. Youâre free to disagree but attack the substance of what heâs saying and not the man himself, for Godâs sake.
Oh man, me too. Iâve been keeping an eye on stock because a friend of mine wants a Series X and itâs so damn hard to find stock that isnât immediately depleted. I came so close to missing out on my order at launch too⌠Makes me dread the rush for the new Switch.
To be honest, as someone who only cares about the campaign, im hoping (but not expecting) that they show a new gameplay trailer in a new area with the visual improvements because I would like to see the game in motion instead of just images.
With that said, im expecting Halo Infinite this E3 to be what Gears 5 was in 2019 where they have the MP segment.
A little snippet of further along in the campaign would be nice.
(Thanks for the welcome guys)
