Not sure why people need story for MP games, but I am old. The story in Apex always baffled me. Who gives a shit? Are these paper thin characters really worth attention, beyond the gameplay?!
Marathon will no doubt be fun to play, will no doubt be busier, messier and further from Halo than ever, and will no doubt have everyone swooning over ‘gunplay’ as if Bungie are the only dev ever to make it good.
I think bungies story telling is kind of bad so that’s not an issue, but this game looks pretty bad to me.
Maybe it’s lighting and that can be adjusted before launch, maybe it’s the video settings the people playing the game use. Maybe is a mix of both with youtubes compression just makes an ugly game to my eyes.
The gunplay is nothing speciel either, I tried out both Destiny’s long enough to know that it’s not better than some of the games I played before and after that I thought felt good to play.
The 4 videos I watched of the game look very good but the devs are going for a very specific look with a crazy color scheme and simple shapes and textures so you either like it or you don’t imo.
I think it looks great, everything about how it looks and sounds is right up my alley, I just don’t know if the game would keep me busy enough to warrant the price tag. Hopefully the open betas when they come will leave a good impression.
It’s not about the colors chosen for the game, there are plenty of games with wilder choices in colors or that give people the ability to customize themselves beyond anything shown.
This game just looks off too me in a way that I can’t describe and so it looks bad to me, I will keep an eye out to see what they do with it in the future. But I didn’t like Destiny as a game even if I thought it looked good, so I doubt anything Marathon will do will get me interested enough to even try a beta.
I remember playing Powerwash Simulator with music playing via Xbox. So I had game audio but music via Spotify in the background.
I don’t have a Spotify account anymore now, is there any other way to use this? I’d love to listen to some music, be it MP3s or maybe YouTube (not Premium) through my soundbar setup while also hearing the rather satisfying audio of the cleaning in the game, lol.
IGN posted the full walkthrough of South of Midnight on their main channel… it’s so shitty of them to do that. It’s the first time they’ve done that and it’s so blatantly obvious why…
Just tested it out to make sure that it’s still working, you need to make a folder called Xbox Music Library to put all your music in as that’s what the app looks for.
Yes, once you open the app it will ask you to press Y to load music and it will start playing automatically, it can load up and play up to 200 songs. With the playback options being last song-pause-next song-repeat 1-random, you can go to the songs and seek them(use LT and RT to go up or down by 30 or so) out while scrolling, but there’s no search option.
IGN don’t do full gameplay walkthrough on their main channel, only Guides on their dedicated IGN Guides channel which already have a South of Midnight walkthrough divided in chapters.
I mean thet posted a full 7 hours video of the game on their main channel… not sure what was the point of that…
Have mentioned it in the PS prices thread, but worth mentioning here as it covers more than just Sony.
It’s looking like if the tariffs do hit electronics (which seems likely - even the walk back still seems to leave 10% for non-China and 20% for China, with the threat of them going back up soon) it’s looking like companies will try and spread the costs across the world rather than impacting the US consumer.
Yes, the USA is one of the biggest markets, and for PlayStation / Xbox and Apple / Samsung it’s one of the most competitive - so if they increase prices there they could lose huge amounts of sales.
But to increase the prices worldwide to stop US consumers from buying overseas and to basically spread the pain so they don’t lose their biggest market will cause outrage and mean the twats who voted for the orange prick won’t learn their lesson from sky-high prices.
Not least, it would allow the US economy to avoid the worst impacts while being highly damaging to countries that haven’t done anything wrong - hopefully many of us in the UK and EU might be able to get our governments to regulate such behaviour (but I doubt it, given the orange moron will likely slap massive tariffs on us if we do).
Sony and Nintendo’s pricing already suggests it to an extent this is the move they’ll likely make (with the cheaper Switch 2 locked to Japanese to prevent US imports) and Apple have been making noises that this would be their approach too.
Already comments sections are not happy, and like many I 100% will boycott for eternity any company caught doing this - some might hurt, but there is no way in hell the rest of the world should pay for the stupidity of some of the US electorate when we didn’t even get a bloody vote in the stupid twat getting elected…
People may be raging in comments sections, claiming they’ll boycott Sony over this, but they’ll be there on day one for Ghost of Yotei and Wolverine like good little consumers, and Sony knows it. (Not you personally but 90% of the Sony fans mad over this)
I even saw someone suggest Xbox Series S as a lower cost alternative to someone raging about PlayStation being too expensive. The response? “But I only like AAA PlayStation games and I have to play them on PS5 Pro.”
