There are a lot of shenanigans going on when the games are being brought over from Asia to the west. https://x.com/zakogdo/status/1782340520670527759 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA6A-ySMHYI [Seeking Japanese Translators] BotW Quest Log English Translation - Modern Zelda - Zelda Universe Forums
Whhahht ??
Those playing AC ShadowsâŚ
Did yaâll enable canon and immersive mode?
I went with Japanese voices anyway, so whatâs the difference with that and enabling/disabling immersive mode?
And canon, thatâs how Ubi intended it? I want to have choices of my own though, so Iâm leaning towards off.
AC Shadows showing it once again, like some other games how 40fps is the way to go. So far minimal visual differences but those extra ten fps make a world of difference.
Performance mode doesnât even seem to be 60fps to me.
Iâm playing with English voices and regular (ânon canonâ) mode. The choices in the newer AC games are just flavor, itâs not like youâre making major branching plot decisions. Itâs a nice option for people who donât like dialogue trees and just want to watch a cutscene though.
ThatsâŚnot always true. There are some pretty consequential choices in Odyssey and Valhalla both mechanically and narratively. That being said if you dont want it to be somewhat RPGy then canon is for you!
Iâm almost starting to lean toward using English voices too, because NPC chatter is not subbed when using Japanese voices. Thatâs a bummer. But not enough to start using English.
I tried all three modes and 60FPS is my prefer mode, the lighting isnât something that I mind because I think the game looks really good regardless.
I think immersive mode gives you stuff like the Portuguese folks speaking Portuguese when appropriate, rather than everything just being Japanese. At least thatâs my understanding.
the choices in shadows are similar to odyssye, mostly about saving people or not, you can lose companions and in canon mode some friends donât make it that you can save otherwise
Personally I canât imagine any bigger of a faceplant for Microsoft than jeopardizing their amazing backwards compatibility technology and the goodwill that theyâve built up around it. Whatever is next, they had better have a BC solution ready to go.
This is why âinsiderâ culture online is pure cancer. A bunch of people with incomplete information running to share it as soon as possible for clout.
They literally announced a forward compatibility team a year ago.
Thatâs why Sarah Bond made sure to talk about their âforward compatibility teamâ last year at the update video they did.
