XboxEra Community Hangout |OT13| New News? NEW THREAD

But then the company would be lying about MS ignoring them. Isn’t that something they can be sued for?

Fextralife with a video. He talked to the devs too.

  • Played nothing but bosses

  • No lock on feature. No problem against one enemy, but when it’s multiple enemies it’s not ideal.

  • High skill floor, but high ceiling for combat

  • The footage shown is by a very skilled player from the team. He didn’t see any visitors being that good.

  • Between 20-40 bosses in full release

  • Open world action adventure, not labeled as an RPG.

  • Character progression isn’t as deep as in an RPG.

  • You do get new weapons and skills.

  • Dev isn’t sure if there will be quests with dialogue options, still up for debate.

  • No character creation

  • He doesn’t think it’s a 2025 game, more like 2026

It’s free press indeed but they’re also pleading with fans to help them get the game out on time for Xbox. They said they don’t have an Xbox account manager; this is why I think the process has been slow for them. I don’t think there is foul play as they have been pretty clear even saying before that they made the decision to focus on the PC and PS5 before for monetary reasons.

All this is is bad PR, and the PR of suing them is 10x worse.

Asking for help is free PR. “Canceling” the Xbox version was free PR. There are so many low to no budget games that get on the store just fine, I really don’t think this one slipped through the cracks. There’s 100% something more to this.

The no lock on feature being a problem when facing multiple enemies makes no sense to me, because lockon is generally a 1v1 feature for me. That I often stop using in some fights whenever I find it more of a hindrance than a help.

Yep! I’m hoping they add it. It sounds like several key decisions haven’t even been made yet, so it really might be a 2026 game.

That being said, i do not get how some Twitter accounts said it was Witcher 3 meets Dragon’s Dogma 2. It sounds like it isn’t Witcher when it comes to RPG elements and dialogue options/choices.

I think some influencers / accounts make their own guesses from trailers or descriptions, and hype it up for their own follows / views.

Whereas most of us have learnt that flashy trailers are great and all, but often don’t give a real indicator of how the game is to play or how finished it is (or will be when it releases)…

I’m noticing strange artefacts in SW on some objects/materials. Near the end of this clip watch the metallic ground. On a big TV it really stands out. I’ve noticed this several times now. Is this due to dynamic resolution or upscaling tech or whatsoever?

7 posts were merged into an existing topic: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection & Fighting Collection 2 are both coming to Xbox consoles in 2025

Hoping that Atelier will have English voice acting by the time the game launches.

Unrelated note: Super hyped for Crimson Desert. Hoping for it to be 2025 but I can see it being a 2026 game.

Do not love seeing how Sony is just bailing on Concord and the likely loss of jobs this will lead to. Hoping for the best for the devs.

I’m assuming they’re giving out refunds…

Edit: Just read the article, they are.

I’m guessing they won’t give up entirely on it and might try revamping it and releasing it as free-to-play - they’re in so deep now a few more million might be worth it to see if anything can be salvaged…

Pretty sure even Lawbreakers lasted longer. Jeez…

That must suck for Concord devs. Hoping the best for them. Between the Bungie drama, TLOU Factions cancellation and the terrible Concord reception, Sony GAAS push went terribly wrong.

Pretty damn shocking how fast the game has essentially pulled/shutdown. Era obsessed over Steam CCU’s but the real shock for Sony must be how bad it’s performed on console.

Sorry to bring Xbox into it but it shows just how good Xbox is when it comes to online stuff. Age of Empires, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, FH all maintaining healthy player bases. Looking forward you can expect stuff like State of Decay 3, Forza Horizon 6, etc all to perform solidly as well. That said what happened to Concord shows just how hard it can be to get out a somewhat successful online game.

Japan Studio was shuttered for much, much less so yeah, not really a hopeful situation for Firewalk.

that server closure is a lot faster than usual for Sony.

i feel for the devs. working years on this product and then it gets rejected this hard. ough.

seems like artefacts from temporal instability. games now render often at a low resolution but accumulate information of multiple frames. this works most of the time and gives the impression of a higher resolution but if you move fast it can break up. if you stop moving the artefacts should disappear in a couple frames.

What was this, two weeks between launch and shut down? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything that fast. Hopefully they can turn it around and do something with it and don’t just cut their losses, but that quick of a response doesn’t make me feel confident.

I am not for one into console war and perhaps in the past I was, but I have grown out of it, because well it’s silly. I just want to play games.

THAT being said…

If you’re into that, then this news about Concord is forever your arsenal to rub them in. I don’t approve this message; I’m only saying. Babylon’s Fall was the quickest and thanks for a reminder, Lawbreakers as well. But this coming from a big company is rather groundbreaking.
