Xbox Game Studios |OT8| Leaving The Drought Behind And Heading For Starfield

Oh I remember this rumour from a while back, a Bethesda studio RTS in an existing IP. I’d be really into a Fallout or Wolfenstein RTS if that is the route they are going, but there was also a seperate rumour of Age of Mythology coming back not that long ago, could be that?
Either way, Double Eleven providing support work on that project seems a realistic possibility based on their existing work with Bethesda so that is a good catch by farsight.

When should we expect the announcement for the Xbox showcase?

Dunno, maybe like a month before they do it?

With E3 being dead we don’t know whethr it will be a June or July show and Nick has already said he was told May so who knows

last year it’s may 26th. 3 weeks before the actual showcase. don’t expect it earlier before the 3rd or the 4th week of may. this assumes that the next event would also happen in around june’s 2nd week like last year’s showcase.

Honestly, this is what I was expecting Skull & Bones to be similar to and of course Black Flag/Rogue.

Are you trying to make me not want this anymore?

Honestly, I had high expectations for Skull & Bones. Take all the Pirate stuff from BF/Rogue, eliminate the AC stuff but give me an excellent single player campaign with treasures on islands, underwater stuff, ship combat. They can copy so much from BF/Rogue that would have easily worked and transitioned to S&B while just removing the parkour system and the story related stuff.

So in answer to your question, no.

Really wish Ubisoft would upgrade Black Flag for Series X/S. I would replay it for the 4th time. Oh well.

I NEED this game now.

I’m still very vaguely on the “Wolfenstein 3 might come out first” train. Indiana Jones seemed to be announced real early, which leaves a solid gap in their schedule in which something else was surely in development.

I made this, it could be quite close to what we will see in Starfield In-Game

Yeah Indiana Jones seems early but it would be cool to see it this year maybe at The Game Awards. And it would be cool to see Wolfenstein 3 if it is in development.

Will be really interesting to see what Xbox decides to show off, we shouldn’t be too far off from the next games from idSoftware, The Coalition, Compulsion, Machine Games and a ton of Publishing games

Finished up Ghostwire. It’s such an interesting mishmash of fantastic and half-baked ideas. It’s tough to use it as a barometer for Tango, though, since the studio seems to be going in a different direction. Regardless, a ton of creativity here and a big step up technically. I’m very interested to see some of these new directors Shinji is bring through iterate on their experience in future projects.

I think we might be a bit ambitious with Compulsion’s timing. We Happy Few had a ton of post launch support (last DLC came out at end of 2019) and they are a pretty small studio that has been staffing up since.

I want to see it soon but in the back of my mind I think it might be a 2024 game.

Playing RDR2 and it reminded me of Indy actually, looks like a cowboy, whip, also been on horseback in cool action scenes in the movies. I then imagine what the game could look like, we could be getting awesome action packed chase scenes on horseback or maybe vehicle chase like in Emperor’s Tomb.

Or maybe something like that canceled Indy game where he was on top of moving tram in San Francisco I believe, stuff looked awesome. We know so very little about this game, hopefully the wait for more details isn’t years away. Just give us an idea what they’re going for.

Red Dead Redemption 2 could be a good example of what Indiana Jones could look like. With cool action packed scenes, combat, horseback riding, as well as being able to explore cool locations. And maybe it could be a semi-open world with main missions and side missions with a similar size to the Wolfenstein games or Halo Infinite.

But overall I just want the game to feel like Indiana Jones as well and I’m sure Todd Howard and MachineGames will do a great job.

Yep, semi open world would be great. With some linear sections where they control the action completely. MG is great, and obviously I’m not gonna expect the insane attention to detail and ultra realistic animations of RDR2 in that game, but I bet it’s gonna look great for sure.

Call me crazy but I want Indy to be a first person shooter. I’m old enough to remember how novel and awesome it was to have Dark Forces turn Star Wars into an FPS. And now 30 years later Star Wars continues to be a FPS. Gun gameplay and shooting Nazis is sort of Wolfenstein / Machine Games niche.

Xbox should just acquire Tomb Raider and Crystal Dynamics if they want an “uncharted”.
