Xbox Game Studios |OT8| Leaving The Drought Behind And Heading For Starfield

I think it’s a moot point because the hundreds of people working on Overwatch 2 have their own vision for the game and it likely doesn’t involve reusing assets from a failed IP.

Doesn’t sound like very good reasons to utilise those characters in another devs IP

If anything they’d want to avoid being associated with a game that wasn’t considered very good asnd it’s not like the characters were popular either, they’d be using the characters for the sake of using them and nothing else

You don’t want to open that can of worms…

I don’t think Bleeding Edge was a bad game because I enjoyed it but it failed because there wasn’t enough post content support.

I liked Bleeding Edge quite a bit.

Okay. On or before December 31st, 2026 then? What does the winner get?

Haha, yep.

We bet a game, or a year of GP if I remember correctly. It was a year ago

Problem is they’d need drastic redesigns to fit in with Overwatch’s art style which is very different. Wouldn’t mid something else done with the IP though. Funny out of all Ninja Theory’s “critically acclaimed” games , Bleeding Edge is the only one that clicked with me on any level. Such a waste.

Isn’t overwatch lacking support characters? So why not Kulev?

Nah they’ll decide that in the first 2 weeks then spend 5 years helping on Halo then have 2 years to complete the game

Daaaamn! I don’t know why Xbox pulled off the plug suddenly? The marketing campaign was the best for any XGS till today, since it began in June 2019 marketing didn’t stop until the game released on Feb 2020, Rahni and her team were making an appearance on every place Xbox attends, liked that’s spirit, They even cooperated with Arekkz Gaming YT for additional marketing and I will say, the series was amazing:

OST is on another level, check it guys!

IMO Bleeding Edge succeeded to create its unique theme not trying to copy other games, animation, Graphics, Level design all were top tier, nobody believed it was done by 20~ employees.

I think Xbox calculated the wrong numbers before pulling off the plug, it’s a melee combat game and shouldn’t compare with Overwatch/ COD/ PUBG numbers. Finding a base starting from 150-300K is the first step to success and grow these numbers later.

Luckily IronGalaxy took all these notice for their next melee multiplayer new IP.

I can understand that if it would be too much work to redesign it but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was able to add characters like Banjo Kazooie, Sora, Steve/Alex, and Sephiroth so it is definitely possible especially since the Bleeding Edge characters could fit into Overwatch.

And I agree Bleeding Edge had a lot of potential and it was a huge missed opportunity that it didn’t have much support with the post launch content and I thought at the time it could have been a competitor to Overwatch.

Yup, it was a great game that ultimately didn’t get enough traction and support. 20 people probably wouldn’t have been able to give the game the support it needed, 343 is so much bigger and they are having trouble doing so with Halo.

I agree I really wish Bleeding Edge got the support it needed and I do think Xbox pulled the plug on it early since it had so much potential and was a fun game. And true the game did succeed at being unique with its own theme and not trying to copy other games.

This studio for me is the main dark horse among all Microsoft studios. And this is the most interesting studio. I would not have paid attention to them if it were not for the game leaked by Jez Corden. Her concept is kind of wild and really curious.

It will also be a third-person cinematic game, which I love a lot (Sorry :))

I think that Microsoft, given the number of IPs that they now own, needs to invest in expanding them as quickly as possible through other media, like movies, TV shows and so on. Any form. But, knowing the inhibition of this company, I think that we will limit ourselves to the Halo and Fallout series in the coming years …

Sooooo yea Perfect Dark is fine.

Yes. It seems to me that Microsoft needs to adopt this format. Although, they already had deep dives for Halo, but still. This is not enough. Also, I think more major publishers will be looking to Sony to make separate States of Play for their games. Real-time and after-time view coverage on the Playstation channel is pretty decent

Is Perfect Dark still first person?

Xbox could have one for the next Plague Tale, for example. It’s an awesome format. It took 15 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy and now we know exactly what we can look forward to.
