Maybe he was referring to the recent Cowboy Beebop disaster
SoD2 came out in 2018 so it’s coming up to 4 years, devs tend to jump onto the next thing soon as they finish up. 2023 wouldn’t be a shock to me but I could just as easily see it being a March 2024 game.
Hot take: I think Bethesda should secure a deal with LEGO to develop an action-adventure LEGO Fallout game like T2 just did for their sport games (or make a partnership with TT Games).
Would be an interesting way to expand and leverage the franchise and have more E-rated games in your portfolio. Fallout has the advantage it can be both dark/adult and kid-friendly/funny. Plus selling dedicated LEGO sets (Fallout is one of the biggest MS IPs in terms of merchandising with Minecraft, Halo and soon Call of Duty).
I can get behind that idea.
I’m looking forward to Lego versions of sports games, although I’m sure they will be riddled with MTX!
I quite liked the recent live action Cowboy BeBop series. Its a shame that “fans” didnt give it a chance and instead caused it to be cancelled so early on.
I really loved some of the super silly lines in it. It had a real buffy the vampire slayer esque dialog.
I gave it a chance. It simply wasn’t very good and it was fairly clear that some of the writers on the show didn’t get the characters and what made them work. As well as ripping certain scenes from the anime but removing their context and because they didn’t get what made them work either. The live action Ghost in the Shell movie had this same issue though it felt more like a cynical cash in than Bebop did, and there were some things that worked. The cast had a good chemistry and Jet was by far the best thing about it and the closest to his anime counterpart. I feel like had it been it’s own thing, inspired by Cowboy Bebop but not an adaptation, it could have worked. (Firefly was basically this)
It would have been nice for them to correct their mistakes in a second season but it wasn’t in the cards. Also fans are not the ones obligated it give this show a chance. They already know what Cowboy Bebop is. It was the casual audience that they wanted to bring into the universe that they clearly failed to attract them.
I get it now. It’s just my context was wrong thinking anime itself was bad attempt rather than adapting anime to live action was bad. I remember Death Note came from Netflix and well, it was not good. That’s putting it lightly.
Just wait for One Piece lol
And Avatar . Have you seen the casting for Aang and Katara ? Their romance plot line is going to be a shit show .
Edit : Just realized this is XGS thread ![]()
Grubb says Perfect Dark is still a 2024 game, theres no issues with development, everyone at the studio is on board with the vision.

Does Xbox owns Ori franchise?
yes
So that corroborates Jez’s investigation, great news
Ok. I wonder if Xbox wants to continue it, who will be the developer.
Also the plan seemed to always be to co-develop the game. I am glad we had to endure the many “Perfect Dark in trouble” headlines.
It’s good to hear that, I was worried at first seeing all those devs leaving The Initiative. Looking forward to a gameplay reveal at TGS ![]()
