That seems unlikely based on this report: Bethesda Has an Idea for Fallout 5, But Don’t Expect It For Many Years - IGN

Odds are you wont see fallout this decade as its in the third position.

I think we’ll see another spinoff but not a numbered title

I don’t see that happening. Fallout 76 was an example of not the main Bethesda team working on a fallout title and that irrevocably damaged the fallout brand. All signs point to them not giving the brand out to another team. They wait and do it themselves and if they are doing it themselves well the math just doesn’t work out when you look at development schedules.

I’m one of the few people that think Fallout needs a lengthy break. Give it time in the incubator so they can innovate a bit. And I say that as someone who absolutely adores the franchise.

I agree . Both Fallout and Gears should go on a break.

FO76 should have launched without bugs and issues, then it would not damage Fallout at all.

Also we need new engine for all these games - or some update at least.

Nah neither should go on a break. Rather see these franchises continue than 90% of the other stuff Xbox is working on.

Well, too bad, the company that owns it isnt making one any time soon, so get over it. The reality is that if no one is working on it right now, it is, at best, 4-5 years away regardless. (Fallout specifically, dont care one way or the other about gears)

Fallout is already on break (and for way too long). The last mainline game was more than 6 years ago and the development of the next game still hasn’t start.

The company that owns it is Microsoft and I’d love to see your documents that detail everything they’re working on

Todd gotta clone himself or train a proper successor to fix this Fallout problem

They need to staff up BGS Austin and promote them as the Fallout team. Like Mojang and 343 Industries.

Problem is that it doesn’t fit with BGS philosophy (as detailed by Todd in his last IGN interview, they like to rotating between different IPs) and that they need them as well as a support studio for Starfield (and probably TES VI too). And in the same time Todd hinted that he wants Fallout to stay in-house.

It’s not healthy / ideal for the IP and it’s frustrating for the fans.

Seriously, who is Todd successor? What BGS games were made without his involvement?

ID’s next game is FPS confirmed !

:face_with_peeking_eye:

I’m not entirely sure that person is at Bethesda, may be at one of the other companies Xbox owns.

Depressingly fucking predictable

Fallout shouldn’t be on break and it’s been awhile since a mainline fallout game . Would be sad if we don’t get a fallout game this gen
