Xbox Game Studios |OT8| Leaving The Drought Behind And Heading For Starfield

Bit crazy that at February 2022 we have no idea which game is releasing when (or how these games look) , if 2022, 2023, 2024… except for Starfield, and for this one all we saw is some artworks.

I mean it’s fine that MS doesn’t advertise their games in TV / Internet at all when they are close to release, but what’s the point of not showing anything to your fans either so they don’t have to wonder based on some CGI / Teasers shown 2 years ago.

Saw someone here laughing at an user who said MS doesn’t care about their gaming business, and we know they care of course but ye.

If anyone told me in summer 2020 that by Feb-2022 we’d be stil discussing about the Avowed, Hellblade, Forza, Fable etc etc release dates or that we wouldn’t even have seen a single ingame image of any game supposed to release this year…

Guess 4 more months to go at the very least :upside_down_face:

They show something that’s not ready = wtf is this crap it looks awful

They don’t show something because it’s not ready = wtf are you doing show us something already or is it in a big mess

I know it’s probably hard to imagine for some people but it might just be they’re not ready to share anything right now and that’s OK. Look how long Nintendo went without a direct wasn’t it like close to a year? And they’re fine.

Another thing is, you can’t really complain they haven’t shown gameplay to games that have had their code names and such leaked because they’re not even announced IE we shouldn’t even know about them so the gap of us hearing about it VS how long it takes for them to show us isn’t exactly fair to complain about it.

Obviously if they’re just sitting on content that is ready to show and they’re not doing it for whatever reason that is dumb but if they simply aren’t ready to share then no big deal.

The only case of showing a game that’s not ready is Halo, and that was a very singular case, a game that was going to release in a few months and it actually needed over 1 year delay to be ready, no matter what they did in that case, it was going to be a disaster.

About the codenames, if these are really supposed to release in months, there wouldn’t be any problem if MS announced it and showed gameplay at the same time.

And lastly, i just hope that it’s not the case that they aren’t ready to at least show any Forza or Redfall gameplay (not mentioning Starfield’s special case) at this point to be honest

They need to throw bugs in here that you would normally not see in an american back yard like Camel spiders, sand spiders, emperor scorpions and other weird stuff

My whole point is they are most likely just not ready and it’s just as simple as that, we know the start of the year is empty so it’s not like there is something launching in 2 months we don’t know about or seen gameplay for. I know everyone LOVES to hear this phrase but we’re gonna probably have to wait till E3 most likely if the backend of the year is where all the games are.

I know it really sucks and they need to change it so we have more shows and content throughout the year but that sort of stuff takes time and I think we will start to see that completely shift next year, I hope I’m wrong and they start this year but I doubt it.

This year is pretty much going to be Redfall, Starfield and likely Forza Motorpsort with DLC and updates for all the launched games last year and the day 1 game pass titles and 3rd/indie exclusives. Mind anything catastrophic I think 2023 is when we get big stuff pretty much year round.

Exactly what I want Cod to be. Frees up Sledgehammer and Treyarch

This entire topic is dumb but i gurantee you that Gears 5 has way more than 10 million players. It had 3 million players during its opening weekend and was updated and enhanced for Series X|S. Please stop with this same topic everytime Xbox gives new numbers for one of their games and use common sense.

I can’t post on resetera anymore but i read on Xbox OT a guy Saying “the ex-leader designer on Warcraft 3 said he and the other staff Who are actually involved in the “BLIZZARD Team RTS” would love to work on Warcraft 4”. Do you have any source about this? I’m waiting for a new Warcraft 4 .

I don’t agree with that.

The strenght of COD is having 3 or 4 different timelines and universes with little gaps:

  • the Modern Warfare timeline
  • the Black Ops timeline
  • the World War 2 timeline
  • the (dormant) futuristic timeline (Advanced/Infinite) or standalone timeline (Ghosts)

COD is basically 3-4 franchises in one.

Having only Infinity Wards only working on COD is not what I would want.

Plus when you see 343 struggling with the Live-Service of Halo Infinite because they are one studio (or DICE with Battlefield 2042, worst Live-Service ever), having so many studios on COD makes sense to me.

I’m excited about what kind of environmental storytelling Starfield could have. We’ll probably visit planets that have people living in it, but perhaps also planets where there used to be life, where stuff happened, we might find diaries or journals here, giving us information on what happened here.

I love environmental storytelling in games.

Some reference?

lmao at posters trying to make a stupid reference about a certain game’s player count and being flat out wrong about it in this topic.

I really enjoy your random short posts whining and commenting about other peoples opinions or posts without ever engaging in discussions, replying or contributing anything meaningful yourself.

I personally believe that once Microsoft owns Activision that COD becomes a platform as opposed to yearly or bi-yearly releases.
