I get that Spider-Man is a zeitgeist. But also, one shouldn’t ignore how much Vanguard sucked as well as the fact that Call of Duty has been creatively bankrupt for a while now.

Spidey does have incredible appeal and legs but NWH just came out and nobody cares about CoD this year, its still impressive but not surprising

It’s a combination of factors imo. Like for example, on the Xbox side of FPS; as big as Halo was/is, it certainly helped that BF 2042 and Vanguard didn’t land. Halo basically won the shooter crown by default.

Who would even be good targets for icons that could have similar pull to Spiderman? I see everyone say batman, but what others.
Personally Im not interested in sideman one bit, but I do see that he has pull.
Sadly the source isn’t just a clown, it’s not confirmed yet but it wouldn’t surprise me. It’s been so quiet on the game. Of course the marketing could start any day, but…I doubt this.
A lot of smaller stuff of which some is really damn good, not to take anything away from that. We’re just hoping to see bigger old stuff like RE2 and 3 remakes and other big titles Game Pass hasn’t included yet, preferably of course brand new games but that seems more doubtful.
I don’t care if games are 1st or 3rd party if I get to play them as part of Game Pass. Nobody Saves the world hits next week, and they’ve already had a solid month. If they can fill the first half of the year with good games them I’m happy with Game Pass which is the platform.
Also, for others who are annoyed. By far the fastest way to earn a mute is to complain about flags. They do nothing to you outside of have a mod take a look at the post. We cannot possibly read every post in every thread so this system allows us to properly moderate things.

The only thing to match spiderman in popularity is probably Batman or Superman imo.
You know the type of games we discusss here for GP proven. We know xbox gets the AA and Indies and the co-op shooter ones.
Thats not the discussion we have here when we say “xbox could do this”.

I can fill half a year will the dozens upon dozens of games I’ve bought and never so much as installed. Let alone what’s coming to game pass.

But don’t forget, not every game in Game Pass appeals to everyone. There’s no way you’re interested in every game only because it’s on Game Pass.

Nobody here ever complains about game pass volume of games or value and the discussions surrounding it arent about that.

Yeah which is why they add so many different genres in either through 3p deals or with their 1st party studio acquisitions. Xbox Games Publishing works in a lot of different genres getting games for game pass which are 1st party in nature. If they have a weak first half then so be it, but we knew before this year started that it was going to take some big paying deals to have a “strong” early 2022.

I agree. But I have a question for you - if Nobody Saves the World wasn’t in Game Pass, are you interested enough to buy it day one or are you just waiting for every game to go in Game Pass?
A Star Wars game might do it, has to be well made.

I purchased Guacamelee 1 & 2, this would have been on my purchase radar yes. My situation is also different since I get review codes so often now. Game Pass has had a mix of games for me that were “I’d have bought this” “I’d never have bought this” and “I won’t even play it for free” games. Your tastes trend to the extreme AAA niche which Game Pass is only going to be full of once the 1st party train is fully rolling.
