Anything better than Xbox One generation is a win folks.
It’s only been a year.

This isn’t going to be the “We Win” Generation.
This is the “Oh, people actually care about Xbox and talk about it again positively” generation.

While not verified, I have seen some people on Twitter mention that PS5 is at 15m while Xbox Series is at 11m. My prediction overall is that PS5 will outsell Xbox Series at a 1.5 to 1 ratio but Microsoft wins back North America. Last generation was basically 2 to 1.
If PS5 for example sell 120m and Xbox Series can hit 90m, that would be a massive success but also surpass Xbox 360 by about 5m units which makes it an even bigger success especially after the disappointing Xbox One generation.
If Xbox Series can at least be around that 1.5 to 1 ratio for majority of 2022, they should be able to hold or improve upon that ratio once the Fall hits going into future years as their exclusives should finally be releasing on a quarterly basis which will definitely get more people interested in Xbox.
With even the slightest increase in effort outside of the anglosphere they would lessen the gap considerably. They are not interested though.

15m units to 11 Is a good ratio for Xbox due the lack of available hardware. As you said, the next Starfield, Fable, Avowed and more should be a very good reason to invest into Xbox ecosystem.

They are profusing more efforts in Japan Market (and a Sega’s acquisition would help a lot in this sense) , Europe, South America (Brazil, Argentina and more) and USA/Canada of course.

There’s a market analysis thread specifically for this kind of discussion
[image]
Maybe this could be a thread for discussing the various market impressions and how sales relate to that?
Related to Japan, there a chain is opting to no longer carry the Xbox Series consoles because of low physical game sales. Many retail stores make their profit on physical sales, so selling consoles with higher digital presence or a service like GamePass may not make sense for them.
Edit: Tweet Response claims this is OG Xbox only. The tweet lists old generation consoles they are…

Xbox has a significant developer presence in the UK. They have a burgeoning presence in France and Sweeden.
If they add a few more studio locations in France and Sweden they’ll have a real 0resence

This year’s event theme is about Akatosh and the codename is Dune via Datamining.
Last year was the first time that the event was correlated to the expansion.
Anyways the first thing I can think of when I see water are Yokudan/Redguards.
Edit: It would be very cool if they add a new playable race. The Maomee, Sea elves, would fit this water teaser as well.

I think Codename Blacksky is new?
Also a third Undead Lab studio?
I’ve seen it talked about before. I always thought it might be Prey 2

iirc Skullzi once said that Blacksky might be a Fantasy setting game made in unreal engine .
So if the third Undead Lab studio is correct, and it is located in Illinois, it would almost have west-middle area-east coast coverage

Looks like it’s around Champaign, which is home to one of the top CS/Engineering schools in the US. So probably a decent engineering presence in the area.

It’s totally the point. Xbox needs to get out a number of first-party titles per year, but that doesn’t nullify their Game Pass deals and non-XGS exclusives. I see people talking about an H1 drought because of the lack of XGS titles. That isn’t logical nor reasonable, it’s just fetishizing first-party above all else for the arbitrary reason of branding.
They want more genres of games coming to keep people subscribed. If you love Shooters, Western RPG’s, or racing games then you will always have something to play. But, what about JRPG’s, third person action games, platformers. If you want those your going to look elsewhere.
