Watched this a few minutes ago. It’s being created by one person and is extremely early in development. Looks good and has a lot of potential.

I didn’t read the comments as I rarely if ever do but im pretty sure the game can be played in both first and third person because you can see the character being played and switched on the fly.

I was all in with the combat and gameplay. Visually, I thought the art style looked good but it was bland, dull and simply didn’t “pop”. Add in the technical issues and I still can’t believe that it was approved to be shown. On the positive side though, Craig was the best thing to happen to 343 Industries and the game itself because without that happening, I do believe that the game would have been rushed out last November. Because of what happened, they made the smarter decision to delay the game and a full year at that. Looks way fucking better now. If the story/characters hit, should be an easy 9/10 for me personally.

Spent nearly 8 hrs on Death’s Door. WAY better than Ori <3 best Xbox exclusive in years ( if I can cheat and treated as XGS ; )

Maybe not in terms of visual effects.

Incredible stuff.

Man Xbox truly needs to get this studio, it’s probably not happening but what this team achieves on the hardware is fantastic!

Well even without cheating. It would be a Microsoft Exclusive as windows and xbox only. Its no different than the actual first party releases. So i’d say this is as exclusive as it gets in the Microsoft camp. So you’d have every right to treat like an exclusive.

My bro told me there are different versions and prices for flight sim and that makes him wonder if we’re gonna get all the airports so far in the game. Or if this differs per version, but is that the case at all here? Isn’t it all via the cloud?

As Death’s Door is neither developed nor published by Xbox, it is most likely a temporary exclusive, like Call of the Sea or The Medium.

It is nevertheless a very good partnership choice for Xbox, as for many indies to be released soon (The Ascent, 12 Minutes, Sable, etc.).

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is neither developed nor published by Sony yet its still treated as an exclusive even with no formal agreement in place at this time. Death’s Door would be similar in my book. But to each his own. Its not a hill I’m going to die on.

Genshin impact too. No xbox version

The Gunk is also a game that seems to be a definite exclusive from the Epic court documents, and it’s not published or developed by Xbox either I think.

wont deaths door eventually go to playstation though? Maybe its me but I never consider timed exclusives actual exclusive.

Deluxe and Premium Deluxe Editions offer more handcrafted airports and more aircrafts. With Standard Edition these places (like Dubai International Airport or Heathrow Airport) will look just worse and like automatically generated by AI or/and Bing maps.

Thanks to World Updates the sim get more handcrafted airports. These updates are optional to download and install (like DLC).

Here you have full list of what comes with specific edition of the game and its updates.

Maps and probably live weather are powered by the cloud.

We know the hard way that there is no guarantee of a timed exclusive showing up anywhere eventually.

it could. I would be surprised if it doesn’t but whether it does or not wasn’t really the argument. As it’s exclusive now at the release when you have the most eyeballs on something. The further you get away from the launch of something. The less likely it is to matter.

Its basically a similar argument to that of do JRPG’s sell on xbox. Well do they not sell because they aren’t there at launch or because no fans are there. If you port a jrpg a year or two after it launches a bulk of the audience has played it elsewhere. So you have a smaller audience for the platform you ported it to who are willing to buy it.

The same would be true for deaths door. All the noteriaty and press is going on about it right now. You have the most amount of people buying it on pc and xbox. If in 6 months it comes to PlayStation. Some people will buy it, but it wont be as many as would buy it now. As in six months you conceivably have horizon, or god of war, or gran turismo, or any other of the umpteen PlayStation games coming out that it also has to compete within that moment.

I love Death’s Door, but for me that’s not the case.
