If Starfield doesn’t slip(fingers crossed) then Avowed coming six months after it releases would be perfect IMO.
I didn’t say negative. I’m saying it would have been bigger if they had their own event. I don’t buy this "more people watch TGA Nonsense. More people watch it live. Good thing about an announcement is its on the internet for people to watch after. It would have had no effect on how many series X was sold. By your logic MS should unveil the Xbox at Super bowl.
I realise people like to defend the TGA. Its decent fun. Good place for some announcements. But no big company should be unveiling their new console at that show. I’m not going to back down on that. People are blinded by the fact that MS were on a high and showed off their next gen system. IF this was at their XGS event in December the exact same response would be made.
Thats never gonna happen with non 1st party games. Plus gamepass deals sometimes go into the last few weeks to get signed off.
Battlefield has always been a more slower paced shooter compared to Halo or COD.

You have not offered one single reason why it would be better to do it on their own show, you just keep saying stuff like “I won’t back down on this” and “No one will convince me”. So basically, this is nothing but stubbornness. And once again, you’re wrong.
On the contrary, doing it on their own show tips off Sony and allows them to respond much quicker (possibly even first).

The only reason someone would be against showing new announcements at the TGA’s would be purely pride reasons which is super weird for a consumer to think that way.
It’s the biggest stage in gaming (yes, even bigger than E3) you’d be a fool to not utilize it and reach people outside of your ecosystem.

TGA’s has more eyes on it than most gaming shows and naturally reaches more people outside of the Xbox ecosystem because it’s a show for ALL gamers.

Get off the “people watch TGA its aimed towards gamers” nonsense. Of course it is. So is E3. A lot of gamers watch a lot of things. Thats why were gamers. You act like TGA is the only thing people watch.
My point is if MS reveal their Series X console at their own event with their own games…people will still know about the damn console. Maybe its a pride thing. But its not like Series X would be this absolute flops of a console if it doesn’t get a damn TGA announcement.
Also MS has become much more relevant this gen. They just don’t overhype their shows. If they did. TGA wouldn’t be something they need to be forced to showcase stuff
If MS came out tomorrow and said “yup, 20th anniversary 2 hour Event we’ll have tons of future games and big announcements” All eyes would be on that not just xbox fans. But you know what? Sentimentality is also a great thing. Maybe it is more personal having your own event. You can control the content and timing.

Maybe I’m not “understanding what you’re saying” because you’re not saying anything? You have given literally 0 reasons why this was a bad thing. No, “Sony wouldn’t do it” isn’t one. No, “It would sell just as well” isn’t one. WHY would it have been better to do it seperately and not take people by surprise? This is literally one of the craziest displays of stubbornness I’ve seen.

TGA are absolute biased against Xbox and have been for years now. Have you seen the amount of sony biased review outlets on the judging panel? its crazy. This is why an xbox game will never win GOTY at these events. Thers at least a dozen or more European based Journalist sites that don’t even review Xbox games at all. This is why PS games get huge accolades during these awards and more than they deserve. Literally a mediocre game like Days gone winning more awards than Forza.
