Xbox Game Studios |OT6| But wait, there's MORE....studios

They gotta show Avowed or Hellblade 2 at TGA’s. The streets are starving for that.

Redfall while I’m sure will be a great game (its Arkane, duh) won’t move the needle like that.

Not really a genre that instills me with confidence considering the only one I have enjoyed is just borderlands :joy:.

I feel Redfall is a perfect game to show for E3 or xbox anniversary event if there is one. I do feel if they want to get people talking they would show Avowed because I think everybody is hungry for a fantasy RPG game.

a new ip kinda like prototype imagine a superhero like game like that with the power of the specs series x and s have shame activision killed that ip after 2 considering it ended at a cliffhanger basically but also obviously a new ip in the 3rd person action adventure to fill that gap in the genre since xbox is aiming for diversity which i love!

I wouldn’t go that far… But for me personally hype level is at a lukewarm 5/10, it can change though.

Yep. Avowed or Hellblade 2 would light the internet on fire, increase mindshare etc etc.

I don’t even care if its a fake vertical slice like what Sony did with God of War or Ghost of Tsushima, you do it and capitalize on this amazing momentum you have going on.

It’s how you gain mindshare.

I think everybody is thirsty for an elder scrolls type of fix. Just look how much hype skyrim re-remaster for series x/ps5 got. Its why I think Avowed would be a great game to create positive buzz into the new year.

A more refined Borderlands with actual strategy with how you use the powers would be a cool game

I just think reading and seeing the art from Project Omen to the Redfall reveal was just a complete 180 and then the leaks say its a Borderlands clone and here we are.

Im excited for Redfall but I think of the things that are best suited for something like TGA, Avowed or Hellblade are better choices

Hellblade would bring the 3rd person next level graphics that people go ape shit over

Avowed brings the open world elder scrolls do what you want hype

But maybe that’s just my bias because im currently more interested in both of those lol but no matter which of those 3 they show it needs to be gameplay or at least snippets of gameplay

Personally I just kinda had something like dishonored but in a gothic vampire setting in my head, so its partly my own fault

We’ll have to wait and see just how the game is but id be lying if I said the borderlands description didnt kill my hype a bit

I kinda feel like there has to be a X021 they still;

  1. need to announce preorder dates for the fridge and info about it

  2. Showcase Halo SP

  3. Seems like they’re sitting on BC news

  4. Probably have more game pass news

  5. I’m sure they have at least 1 or 2 unannounced games they could show/tease

  6. maybe even announce a new studio too

I think they could easily have a great digital X021, just keep it to the info only and try not to have too much talking. They can still show Avowed or Hellblade 2 at TGA.

I mean… that’s why I said it needed 6 more months?

Yea we should absolutely

I think people are naturally skeptical about Redfall for a couple of reasons:

  1. Bethesda’s track-record with co-op is not particularly great out of the gate. 76 and ESO were fixed over time thankfully, but still.

  2. The Omen leaks didn’t help. When people read Open World Immersive Sim Vampire RPG, they mostly thought Dishonored with Vampires.

  3. The trailer gave off more of a Left 4 Dead vibe than a Borderlands one.

  4. People are afraid the immersive sim elements will be scaled back.

  5. The phrase “playable in single player” doesn’t always instill confidence. Sea of Thieves and especially Second Extinction are playable in single player, they aren’t particularly enjoyable in it though.

  6. The Item Shop in the main menu implies MTX.

That said, I have faith and people shouldn’t be writing it off. Here’s why:

  1. Arkane’s trackrecord for games they lead development on is impeccable.

  2. The characters, lore and writing seem strong.

  3. Borderlands progression with Arkane’s more open levels are not opposed and can work together super well. Ditto powers and co-op.

  4. Prey is the most immersive game Arkane has made. I trust Austin here. Even more so because the directors made Dishinored 2, Dishonored DOTO and Prey Mooncrash. The last one in particular took the Roguelike structure and deconstructed it and molded it in Arkane’s image. I suspect similar here.

  5. Arkane are very systems oriented and very single player friendly. They knew for example invasions in Deathloop could harm the SP experience and made it optional. I suspect Redfall will be properly balanced for single player and co-op.

  6. MTX is indeed possible, but MS’s implementation of it when applicable has rarely been scummy. The fact the Zenimax board is gone helps even more here. Also, games like Bleeding Edge and Forza Horizon 4 had MTX in their early plans removed in the final game. Same could happen here.

Couldn’t have summed it up better.

I’ve said before, but a Power Stone 2-type game starting Xbox mascots. Probably Iron Galaxy are the team for it.

Also, of course, Viva Piñata 3. I think you tap Frontier Developments for it.

A 2D RPG in the same template as Paper Mario would be amazing.
