Xbox Game Studios |OT6| But wait, there's MORE....studios

I pretty much agree with Klobrille regarding when those games get released but I disagree with all four games he lists being shown at The Tokyo Game Show. Even though I think there’s confusion and that the Tokyo Game Show is really The Game Awards which if it is, then I can agree with both but if the bottom four games are for the Tokyo Game Show, then I don’t see any of the four being shown in Japan first.

And his posts are from today? Then I guess Uruquart really meant E3 with “soon”. Damn bruh.

But it’s on schedule as Klobrille says and that’s good to read.

Yeah, I believe it’s from Klobrille on resetera earlier today.

Hes talking about The Game Awards, i.e. Geoff’s show, they showed Hellblade 2 in 2019 and Perfect Dark in 2020, both super early/cgi

So if they are gonna continue that trend it seems they prefer Geoff’s show for things further out and less about gameplay so Avowed might not be the best fit as it will almost certainly be gameplay when that it shown again

Assuming the Kojima/Xbox thing is really happening, it’s pretty much perfect for it

It’s still really early so it would get the CGI/in engine type trailer, gives Xbox a big reveal and gives geoff a big reveal, not to mention him and Kojima being very close

Yeah, probably. Idle Sloth seems to have mistaken it for The Tokyo Game Show. If it’s that then I agree with those four games being shown.

If Kojima has or will be signed, they should announce the signing/deal at The Tokyo Game Show and then have him reveal a teaser trailer at The Game Awards.

Well in this case I hope he’s wrong on this prediction, it’s exactly a gameplay trailer I’d like to see from Xbox. Haven’t we had most of the XGS games in the form of CGI trailers by now? Excluding inXile and Compulsion? We have had Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Avowed, The outer Worlds 2.

Say that Avowdd gameplay trailer IS ready, it should be a major go for TGA along with Kojima announcement. But time will tell.

Do you think it’s some outsourcing for Halo Infinite or something different ?

Disagree with Klobs opinion with Avowed’s next showing being Summer of next year. Why even mention it in a press release right after E3 saying soon if the plan is to not show it until a year later. Might as well shut up and not say a word.

Yeah, “soon”, even in the vague pr language of the videogame industry, means “in the same year” at least.

At TGA I expect anything, considering last year they showed Perfect Dark and the year before Hellblade 2, which are not going to be released within a year at all, lol.

Get Avowed out the way this year because come Summer all the eyes/ears are on Starfield even if thematically both are different.

Avowed could use the TGA crowd and exposure more than something like Starfield so to me personally Id debut it there. While we know who Obsidian is and what they do most people probably are still sleeping on them.

I’m pretty much used to the old Blizzard interpretation of soon, meaning between now and the heat death of the universe. So soon being E3 2022 wouldn’t be a surprise to me.

:joy:

Avowed I think is late 2023. Still havent changed that view

Obviously Obsidian has not the same worlwide appeal of Bethesda Game Studios (probably only Rockstar and old time Blizzard have more recognition), but they are very known, I mean, they developed several cult classics (Kotor 2, South Park, PoE and TOW at least) and a big Fallout game, the average gamer knows them. Anyway, yeah, a big TGA showcase for Avowed, which is a new IP (even if set in the PoE world it’s clear they are separating the two things, PoR was and will always be a Kickstarter funded project), could do wonders for the game.

IIt’s going to be one RPG starting from next year.

Starfield 2022.

Avowed 2023

Fable 2024

Inexile. 2025

Elder scrolls 2026 etc

I mean sure people know Obsidian but I think more people NEED to know them so put them out at the TGA where more casuals are looking to generate excitement. Im the first one to say xbox got too much rpg’s to be withholding them on a year basis for reveals but I dont think its ideal to have it reveal the same show as Starfield.

I think Fable and Avowed drop the same year just different quarters.

:+1: this is my angle

I don’t think they held back an Avowed trailer because of Starfield, scifi vs fantasy, I mean, Avowed is much more similar to Fable and that was revealed at the same show.

Maybe they’ll surprise us ans they’ll reveal the inXile one, lmao. Obviously I’m joking, the game is in full production only since Wasteland 3 main game release (august 2020), so yeah it’s at best a 2024 title, I don’t believe in Grubb 2023 prediction for this, the timeline doesn’t match.

Starfield is all MS will be talking about for the foreseeable in terms of RPGs. They won’t show any other until it’s out. My view anyway
