Nah, there is no hope in that regards.
I hadn’t forgotten the jist of the thread. A few folk were saying the first half of 2022 was looking a little lean for Xbox exclusives.
I was just saying that there’s plenty of massive 3rd party games coming, not to need to worry about Xbox not having a 1st party exclusive in the first 6 months.
They won’t do it, even if they easily can, they are scared by bad optics like little children.
I always worry about the XGS line-up because it’s the image of the brand.
Careful now… You sound almost like a fan.
This is gold
Redfall is landing in the Summer of 2022, Starfield in November.
They’ve committed to at least one 1st party game every 3 months in the future. It’ll be a few years before that strategy is ready to be put in place. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Until then the likes of Stalker 2, Ark 2 etc will fill the void on Gamepass.
I also said that STALKER 2 in april means H1 2022 is already better than H1 2021 (The Medium only) and there are several other possible titles among delayed 2021 things (Grounded, As Dusk Falls, CrossfireX, Warhammer Darktide, Scorn, Bright Memory Infinite), so no doomposting, but we should not mix multiplatform releases if they are not coming to GP, because they are not intrinsically beneficial for Xbox.
7 studios? On top of what they have now?
I fully expect MS to get at least 30 studios sooner or later. It is a necessity.
Dont know about Necessity but yeah they need to keep growing just like every other company.
I’ve always played 3rd party games over Xbox exclusives bar Project Gotham Racing and Forza. Ever since I first played Ghost Recon on the original Xbox way back in 2004/2005
Halo and Gears never did anything for me and the 2nd party list bar Stalker 2, doesn’t really get me excited either for the first 6 months of next year. The Crossfire X beta last year was abysmal and unless the game has been ripped apart, I hold no hope for it entertaining me. Insurgency Sandstorm is more appealing to me at the minute.
I can happily wait until late 2022/2023 for the big guns to show up and finally get to revel in Xbox exclusives ie Redfall, Starfield, Hellblade 2, Avowed, Outer Worlds 2.
Personal tastes =/ brand image, it seems to me you’re mixing different things together. I’ll personally try everthing from Xbox line-up because of GP, for third party games I always wait for footage, reviews, gameplays, discounts, etc…day one 70/80€ releases are very risky today in the age of gimped day one releases.
The problem I have with 3rd party games now, is everytime I buy one, it ends up on gamepass a couple of months later
Yeah, I also got screwed by that tendency lol.
I might pre-order Horizon Zero 2 for a laugh, to get it on gamepass
I know not everyone was a fan of FFXV but funding Tabata’s next game/studio seems like a good move
Would give xbox a big japanese exclusive, would get plenty of attention and would help ease the blow of FF16
Not to mention there arent too many independent japanese devs making big AAA anymore, need to strike while you can
Is it confirmed he’s developing an AAA project? If true, yeah, MS should try to secure it, moreover PS has no more a grip on that market, Switch is not capable enough to run modern blockbusters and MS does not cut away pc from its deals (on the contrary with gp pc), so it’s only a matter of how much money they are open to spend.
I thought I read when he left that he was planing on making big games with his own studio but maybe I just imagined that
Either way though, it would be a good get to have as he’s one of the relatively bigger names in Japan and has experience with big titles if that’s what he wants to do
Yeah - Jez said that he heard the night earlier. So, super last minute.
